Outlook disconnects regularly and I get the following error message

The server for account "Yahoo" returned the error "[SERVERBUG] AUTHENTICATE Unable to open mailbox; please try again later." Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?

When I re-enter my password, I always tick the box to "remember the password in the keychain".

Then Outlook connects but disconnects after a while.

In general, the account is always disconnected after a long period of inactivity (say overnight).

Any tips?

Is there a mac data cleanup / compression tool for Outlook ?

So my Macbook SSD is filling up quite fast.
Outlook main identity is currently consuming 7GB and i need to preserve as much space as possible.

Is there a data clean up or compression tool for the main identity folder like there was on the windows version ??
At what point will outlook start to slow down due to a large main identity folder ? or does it not have the same issues as the windows version does with all the information being stored in a single data file ?

Alternatively, there is 3.7G in the "message attachments" folder, can this folder be deleted occasionally or is this where outlook actually stores all the attachments that are downloaded within the emails themselves ?

Is there a way to have signatures show on new messages only, not reply or forward ?

I know i can manually insert email signatures or have them set for all emails, is there a way to have a signature automatically added to NEW emails only ??

I've transferred from a windows outlook environment and this is rather annoying not being able to do this.

I have Office 2008 and just added MS Office Home and Office Edition. Outlook asks for the deletion of daermon from startup

Email transfer in pgrading from Office 2004 to 2011

I am upgrading a computer from Office for MAC 204 to Office 2011. I currently use Entourage for my email . Will the installer transfer all my saved mail from Entourage to the new version of Outlook?

Outlook 2011 (14.2.2) – Can’t connect to Exchange account after update

After I did the most recent update to Office 2011 (Outlook v. 14.2.2) I can no longer connect to an Exchange server. I made no configuration changes and the same account can still be accessed in Entourage 2008 (on same computer) as well as on iPhone.

As suggested on this site and others, I repaired permissions on the disk. I also deleted the account and tried to re-add it to no avail.

For the time being, I am getting by with Entourage 2008, but definitely would like to get Outlook 2011 working again as I prefer it (though I am now glad I didn't delete Entourage!)

Let me know if anyone has any solutions.

preview pane reverts to hidden when closed

HI I have someone who is on 10.6 and has Outlook 2011 for Mac.
He has a fairly new computer. He chooses "Below" the option in preview pane. however when he quits Outlook it reverts back to hidden. Any advice? Trash prefs?

Outlook for Mac Task list problems

1. I have two email accounts managed by Outlook in Office Mac 2011. The Exchange account behaves fine but for Gmail, if I flag an email it appears in the task list up to four times with different due dates associated. They appear to be individual entries because if I delete one the others remain.

2. The Task List has an annoying habit of refreshing itself every minute or so and reverting to the first item in the list.

3. There seems to be no way to sort tasks by their categorization in any consistent way. A task with a categorization of 1 does not appear first in the list - there seems to be no logic to the sort order.

Is this just a piece of poorly tested Microsoft code?

IMAP accounts not reading, but able to send.

IMAP accounts not reading, but able to send. I have several computers with IMAP accounts and this week I have had all of them stop uplinking. It seems that one person can uplink and sync their account , but the others can not. I get not connected to user error. I have deleted the IMAP accounts and added them back in. but still experinecing the same problem.

Missing Auto Correct Function in Outlook spell check

Why did MS get rid of the autocorrect button in the spelling checker for Outlook?

It is a fundamental part of my efficiency since I am a poor typist and I make many consistent errors. In Entourage the process is much speedier as I can type much faster when the autocorrect function is working. In Outlook, I have to pause, call up the spell check, then can only correct the word at that moment. I assume there is no autocorrect learning going on in the background.

Am I missing something, or is it really the case that MS has removed the autocorrect function? Or is the last line in the SpellCheck window list (Correct Spelling Automatically) meant to do this? If so, it is not working in my case. Is there a way to make it work?
