Updating my new macbook pro  to 365 personal for mac from office 2008 for mac on my old macbook pro. I have quite a few archived emails organized according to job, client and project that I MUST have access to on the new computer. Need to know how to transfer files from entourage to outlook to keep all my old files and archived emails intact.

Thanks!

Michele

Hello,
After installing Office 2011 instead of 2008, my mailbox has increased from environment to Outlook.J 'was able to retrieve the data stored in the Main Identity folder, but I created sub folder in entourage which I filed my mails.Je could not recover under these dossiers.Est that one has a solution for finding am by import or does anyone have an idea where they would be stored either on the mac or even the time machine backup.
Thank you in advance for your help

Bonsoir,

I've just moved to Outlook 2011 from Entourage 2004. My first 2 questions have to do with using Contacts.

1) In Entourage, I could highlight a group of contacts, copy them and when I pasted into Word or my mass email program, only the email addresses of the contacts would be pasted. With Outlook, all the info for the contact is pasted. How can I copy just the email address for a highlighted group of contacts?

2) In Entourage, I had Address Book Views created for the many Categories to which I had assigned contacts. In Outlook, I don’t see a way to create the equivalent of Address Book Views. Is this done through creating a new Folder or Contact Group?  And if so, what’s the procedure for adding a large group of contacts to a new Folder or Contact Group rather than one by one? I have thousands of these to do.

Thanks

Gregg

since updating to Outlook from Entourage for some reason when getting mail it downloads EVERY mail on server whereas Entourage used to download the emails since last send/receive.
In otherwords I am getting repeat emails every 10mins and a real pain having to keep deleting  3 or 5 copies of same downloaded email??
please help?
I'm now migrating from Entourage 2008 to Outlook for Mac 2011.  I frequently use scripts on Entourage to accomplish the following:

1) Change the name of the sender of a message I've received.  I use this, for example, if the sender of the mail shows their name in a non-Roman alphabet (Chinese, etc) and I want their sender name to appear in my inbox in Roman letters. Or if I know the person by their nickname rather than their formal name.  In both cases I want their sender name in my Outlook inbox to match the name I know them by.

2) Change date and time sent of a received mail.  Occasionally I use this script in Entourage if the clock on the sender's computer is set incorrectly and the message therefore appears in the wrong place in my inbox.

3) Delay sending time.  This script allows me to set the sending date and time of a mail to, say, the end of the week, or even sometime next year.

I've searched everywhere online and haven't found these three scripts for Outlook yet.  Can anyone help me find them?  Or are there other non-script, time-efficient workabout solutions?

Thank you for any advice you can provide!

I have a new MacBook Air that sits in the box because of my stress in having to use Outlook 2011 instead of Entourage 2008.

99% of the stress comes from fear that the many hundreds of emails that still have file attachments to them won't convert into Outlook with the files attached.  I work in a home office environment by myself, so there are no issues around other users or networks.  I've looked around here and on the web to find out what happens to the attachments when I import Entourage 2008 data into Outlook 2011 and I can't find a hint of an answer.

Does anyone know what will happen?  Assuming I'll lose all the attachments, does anyone have a suggestion other than the obvious of what I should have done over the years...detach the email attachment and save it where it belongs!

Thanks.

My work place forced us to upgrade from Entourage 2008 Mac -> Outlook 2011 Mac.   I find the new mail client super annoying.  I'm so temped to move away from Outlook and onto something like Mozilla Thunderbird or .... Apple Mail (which I try to stay away from).   Since I can't go back to Entourage 2008 (our IT upgraded Exchange that prevents me from going back to Entourage 2008).  Here's my annoyance:

1)  the jumping back to inbox:  what happens is when I'm in a subfolder, sometimes it auto-jump back to inbox.  Very annoying (people are complaining about the same thing on Mac rumor)

2)  WHY did you remove selecting a topic??  (eg. "2 weeks ago" or the name of the person/topic you're sorting on to select all messages).   Instead, I have to select the top message, scroll down, shift select the last message.  (I was able to do this fine in Entourage 2008/2003)

3)  that brings me to annoyance #3:  sometimes, doing #2 causes the selection I just made to UNSELECT.  If I were to set all to "read" or "unread", it de-selects, causing me to do #2 several times.  Sometimes, if I were to first select the last message, scroll to top, then SHIFT click the 1st message, it auto-unselects.  Doing #2 over and over again gets old fast.

4)  search.  WHY would you mess with that?  I hate Apple spotlight and have it turned off.  This disables message search.  (this was awesome on Entourage 2008/2003)

5)  some of the filters (after upgrading from Entourage 2008 Mac) doesn't work anymore.  They disobey all rules and mailing list manager.  There's a group I want to filter but ... even if I were to change the rule, add a new rule, or turn off ALL rules - it never obeys them  Something is very whacked ... it's like you guys programmed mini-skynet into Outlook... (and no, I'm not interested in trashing my database and start over)

Come on guys, you guys went from awesome = Entourage 2008/2003 to junk = Outlook Mac 2011.  Please do something or suggest a workaround.  Make me a believer of Office product once again!

How can I import E-mails, contacts, calender from Entourage into Outlook? Entourage exports are xy.reg!
In Entourage I could hit Command period. But that doesn't work in outlook. And there doesn't seem to be an out box.
How crazy is that? As soon as you hit the send button you remember something or want to change something.

I have found if you hit Command 7 you can keep your progress bar up constantly and be able to hit the X possibly in time. Is there no way by default to keep the Outbox up all the time. Or a button you can press to stop outgoing email. This could force me shift back to Entourage or Apple mail... sighhhh.

Anyone know how to stop the email from shipping?
Any and all help appreciated.
