I am using Outlook Mac 2011 on a MacBookPro with Snow Leopard.  When my mail comes in it automatically gets put into my "on my mac" inbox and not the inbox tied to my exchange server.  Therefore, it won't sync properly with my Iphone.   How can I change this so that my email comes into my Exchange inbox and not my "on my computer" inbox
[Moving this post from previous thread that was similar but not the same issue]

I have the latest version of MS Outlook running on my 27 Inch iMac that is running the latest version of Snow Lion. I had my local Apple store do the migration of my files from my old PPC Mac running 10.5.8 when I purchased my new iMac. However I am having trouble with moving files from Entourage version 12..3.5 (Microsoft Entourage 2008 for Mac). The Main Identity got corrupted and some of the files did not move over.

What I wanted to do was to select folders of important emails in Entourage, save them to my desktop by dragging them there (where they have a suffix of .mbox, use Dropbox to bring them over to my iMac and then import them using the directions presented in this thread. But when I follow the steps of File-Import-Contacts or Messages-.mbox files I am presented with a window where I can search for the .mbox file to import. But the file I just brought over to my iMacs desktop can be seen it is greyed out and cannot be selected.

How the heck do I bring these folders of email messages into Outlook?

I've tried exporting my Identity but that always gives me an error message. So what other choice do I have?

Any help would be appreciated.

Outlook for Mac 2011: Some folders (not all) on my computer are duplicating themselves. Deleting one duplicate results in both copies being deleted. If I rename or move as a sub-folder, clears for a time but then returns (out of the blue) as duplicate folder (never sub-folder). Not every folder seems to do this e.g.

Inbox
- Folder 1 < original as subfolder
Sent
Draft
Deleted

Folder 1 < duplicated
Folder 2
Folder 3 < original folder
Folder 3 < duplicated folder
Folder 4
Folder 5

running Outlook for Mac 2011 version 14.2.5 on Mac OSX Snow Leopard.
Hope someone can help! Thanks.
Hi,

I have a Mac Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 with Outlook 2011.
The computer is also on a domain with Exchange 2010.

Since we last updated the software to 2011, I've moved all "On My Computer" items to the exchange account.
When I try to check those items on Outlook 2011, everything seems to be fine.
When I use OWA to check those items, all emails that were from "On My Computer" have this weird MIME format:

This message is in MIME format. Since your mail reader does not understand this format, some or all of this message may not be legible.

I tried using Outlook 2010 but it's the same as OWA.

It seems like there was a encoding problem while uploading to the exchange server.

Does anyone know what's going on?

Thanks,
Daniel
I have an iMac 27” running Snow Leopard with MSOffice for Mac 2011 installed.
I have been able to automatically sync Outlook Calendar with iCal and Contacts with Address Book and Notes via Mail.  This has enabled me to sync this data with my iPhone and iPad using iTunes.

My hard disc was starting to cause problems and has just been replaced under the Apple replacement programme.  My backup using Time Machine worked brilliantly in restoring all my applications and data.

However, when I now try, within Outlook, to turn on the Sync Services the dialogue box comes up empty so I cannot restore the sync between Outlook and the Mac Applications.

Does anybody have any ideas please.

Hi

Not sure where to go so I am hoping this forum can help.

I have a removable Hard Drive with a CARBON COPY of my MAC BOOK PRO running Snow Leopard. I no longer have the SNOW LEOPARD MAC BOOK PRO, Only the HARD DRIVE with CC.  I now have a new Mac Book Air with Lion and was planning to export the SNOW LEOPARD OUTLOOK 2011 emails to import into OUTLOOK 2011 on the LION MBA, but now realize I can not boot from the CC with SNOW LEOPARD using a LION MBA.

Can someone tell me how I can get the MAIL FOLDERS off the Snow Leopard HARD DRIVE and import into the LION MBA?

THanks

Hi - I recently had a Hard disk fail on my Macbookpro - 2010 model - that was running Snow Leopard.

The data was able to be saved from the disk and copied on to an external backup drive, and a new hard disk put in the notebook.

Given that they installed Lion on the new hard disk i decided to upgrade to Office 2011 at the same time, now when i come to import the main mail identity to outlook 2011, it finds the folder on the external hard disk ok, but then instead of saying importing mail/etc - it just says all imported (impossible its 5GB of data) and click finish to use outlook.

Help  -i have alot of emails and contacts on there that are needed!

I have a user running Outlook 2011 and Mountain Lion.  He was recently upgraded to a new MacBook Air from a MacBook Pro.  He'll be typing in Outlook or Word and the keyboard will randomly freeze up.  He doesn't notice it because he looks at his fingers when he types.  This apparently was happening on his MBP (Snow Leopard 10.6.8) as well.  It appears to only happen using Office 2008, specifically Word and Outlook.  I'm not sure what preference was carried over from the old machine that may be causing this.  Has anyone else had this issue?

Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011 running on MAC OSx Snow Leopard Version 10.6.8

Version 14.2.2 (120421) – latest available updates applied

Email account configured in Exchange Mode – Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 2

The Inbox was synchronizing with the Exchange server (new messages were arriving and messages could be sent) except that no attachment could be downloaded or opened. The status bar message was displaying „ Downloading attachements 0 of 14 "

We tried to restart, update, reboot even to repair the database, afterwards still the same message appeared.

Next, we cleared the cache for the inbox folder. The messages disapeared from the inbox and start synchronising again. After a while, when the sync was finished we only found 200 emails out of approx. 4000. After checking the webmail, we were surprised to find that the emails were missing there also.

Could this clear cache operation determine the email loss?

What about the initial error - Downloading attachements 0 of 14?

Operations were made in the same network with the server therefore no connection problems arised. Network interface WLAN.
