I have a Macbook Air and need to move my saved attachments to the new machine from my old Macbook. Can I just copy the contents of the Saved Attachments folder over to the new machine?

Also, before you answer that, you should know that I started using the new Outlook 2011 instance and received several emails before I noticed the rest of the old attachments weren't on the new mac. How can I integrate these Saved Attachment folders. I am running Mavericks 10.9.3.

Thanks!

Hi - I have seen a  few threads on this but despite trying them, nothing has worked. Background is that for the last 12+ months I have been quite happily accessing my corporate email (MS Exchange) via Outlook for Mac 2011 - only thing was that I had to change the server connection details when on / off corporate network but that had been fine up until last Wednesday when I got the following error:

I have tried the following:

  • Removing and recreating the account in Outlook
  • Removing the entries in KeyChain
  • Running KeyChain First Aid
  • Creating a new Key Chain
  • Creating a new account on the MacBook and trying to add the account again
  • Tried disabling autodiscover for the account
  • Removing and reinstalling Office for Mac

The bizarre thing is that if on the corporate network it is fine, but when off network get the issue. The exchange account seems fine as still getting push email to iPhone and can access via OWA so it seems to be the issue is linked to being off network, trying to access account via EWS/Exchange.asmx on my MacBook.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as running out of ideas and don't fancy rebuilding my MacBook.

I have a client that has had a HDD failure in thier MacBook and they do not have a valid backup to restore from.

The drive was sent for analysis to see what could be recovered.

The curent main identity has database issuses (99% recoverability)

Before sending the drive for analysis I attempted to rebuild this Database, but encountered an error (-17997) before a rebuild could be completed.

Is there a way I can recover the email without a working Database?

Hello, I have a problem with Outlook 2011 for Mac. I am using three devices (MacBook, iPhone and iPad) and although Outlook is downloading received e-mails perfectly, the e-mails sent from iPhone or iMac are not downloaded at all. Any idea what should I change? I am using POP3 protocol as IMAP is not my favourite option. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi,

I have a MacBook Air, Mid 2011 with Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5.  I have Microsoft Office for Mac 2011.

I have been using Outlook successfully for 2/3 years, but suddenly today it has stopped opening.  Other Office software opens.  But when I click on Outlook it appears to start opening (the standard yellow box appears briefly), but then stops.  No error message is seen.

I have restarted the MacBook several times and checked Software Update.

I have followed threads for similar issues and done the following:

- Hold 'Option' key and click on Outlook icon to open Microsoft Database Utility.  I have created a second 'identity', made it the default, and then opened Outlook - successfully (though with no content).  When I reset the default to the original identity I am again unable to open Outlook.

Though I have found threads that suggest taking the above step I have not found anything that then explains what that means, or what to do next.  Some threads seem to say I have to rebuild a database, and others caution against rebuilding a database.  Rebuilding a database sounds like I am going to lose something by doing it - whether it be content, different accounts I have set up within Outlook, rules etc.

Can anyone give me advice please?

JJ

P.S.  Shortly before this Outlook failure I had an error message that required me to switch the MacBook off and on again.  This has been a recurring problem over the last few months (though never previously resulting in an Outlook failure).  The panic report runs 4 pages long and there is no particular error code I can find.

What is going on?  My hotmail account is only current on my MacBook (laptop) - for my iPhone and my iPad it has all the wrong messages.  They should all be the same, in other words, what's on the laptop should be what is on the iPhone and is what is on the iPad…but they're all different.  I just migrated to hotmail last week (from aol - ugh!) and am very disappointed with this experience…HELP, HELP, AND TRIPLE HELP!!!  Can someone please help me figure out how to make all 3 devices have all the same info?  This just started…everything was in synch just a few days ago!  Thank you.
I want to sync my outlook (hotmail.com) account across my macbook, ipad & iphone so that when I delete an email on one device it will delete simultaneously across all my devices. Currently I have to delete each email 3 times to clear it on all my devices, this is time too time consuming.
I work with the Skydrive app on two MacBooks. One works as it should. The other uploads files but deletes them immediately after upload.

I can find them in the skydrive trash.

Files and folders previously uploaded via the first MacBook are deleted as soon as the second MacBook goes online.

Putting files via browser works for both machines. Both machines sync time and location via internet. The personal settings on my Microsoft account are set correctly to Brazil, however I did not select a timezone.

Skydrive makes a lot of sense to me as long as it does not delete files I want to share!!

How can I put this second machine back to normal??
