Today my account switched to Outlook which is a product I do not want to use.   Hotmail has been my account and it is what I have paid

for.  Who has the authority to change my email account without verifying that change with me, the customer, first?  When I entered this forum

I can see there are others who are equally frustrated and wanting an answer to the same question.   MSN makes it very easy to pay for

services on my credit card and impossible to get support for a problem that is clearly on their shoulders.   Would someone PLEASE send

me an answer on how to fix this issue.

I received an email that says it is from Windows Live Customer Care (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***).  It says this is my final warning that I need to upgrade my account or it will be deactivated.  It asks for my full name, user name, password, year of birth, and country.  Is this email legitimate?

I received an email from "Microsoft" that automatically went into my Junk folder stating "This email is from Windows Live Customer Care. We are sending it to all account owners for account upgrade. We are experiencing network congestion due to anonymous registration of email accounts. To prevent this, we are shutting down unconfirmed accounts and your account is scheduled to be deactivated. " Then it asks for my email info and password.

Is this a scam?

I use this account for business so I CAN NOT have it deactivated.

Here is the email:

Here are some ways to help you manage your account after you reconfirm your account.
  1. Create an archive - Set up a folder on your PC’s hard drive where you can save large attachments. Then just delete them from your inbox. You’ll still have them and your inbox will be that much smaller.
  2. Make your filters work for you- Did you know you can set up your Hotmail account to immediately delete junk e-mail? Go to Options, and click Filters and reporting. Under the “Delete junk e-mail” section, select Immediately to delete junk e-mail right away. Once you’re finished, click Save and you’re done.
  3. Delete a bunch of mail at once- Go to your Junk and Deleted folders, and clear them out by clicking the “Empty” button in the action bar.
If you have more questions, please read our help topic on Hotmail storage.
Sincerely,"

Is this a valid Microsoft hotmail request?

** POSTING ON BEHALF OF A CUSTOMER **

I have merged my Windows Live Messenger and my Skype account. Can I undo the merge? If so, how do I do it?

Thanks!
