I just got a new machine (Air) and downloaded Office 2011 for Mac.  I work for several different companies so setup identities for each client.  I need to do it this way, so that I can be certain that I do not send emails to people from the wrong email address.  That would be disastrous for me, and something I have done before, so I know the pain!

On my old machine (Pro) which also had Office 2011 for Mac, when I clicked on the Outlook icon the identities box came up and I choose which identity I needed to use.  I do this several times a day as I change company hats.  But I do not have this option now. I am not sure why it is not there, or if I need to download something extra.

When I click on Outlook it just accesses the default email address.  And I know that to change default email addresses, I can hold down option, click on the Outlook icon, change the default email, close the identity dialogue box and then click on Outlook again to access the relevant email address, but you can imagine doing this several times a day is cumbersome.

Is there a way I can get the old configuration back of just automatically having the option to choose which identity I want to use when I click on Outlook?  The identity box that comes up does not have the option to always make it appear, so I am unsure what is wrong here.  Any help?

BTW, as an interim measure I setup separate users for each email address, and now flip between users using faster switching (or something like that), but this may still be problematic, because tools such as Evernote have had to be setup on each user profile, which is duplication of Evernote databases and therefore gobbling up storage which is extremely important on my Air machine.

Thanks for your consideration.
I am using Outlook 2011.  My identity file is 1.36 gigabytes, but when I open Outlook, it is not showing any of my contacts or emails.  Help!

Hello.

I need to know the Recent Log In Activity.

My account was recently hacked, and after successfully verifying my identity I was able to recover it, but I need the recent log in activity for this account. From what I searched in this forum I need to request it.  Can I get this information?
I was deleting old emails from Outlook 2011 for Mac, OS 10.6.8, when the program crashed.

Upon restarting, all my calendar events were gone, except for one event.  Meanwhile, all my contacts and email appear to be intact.

I have my Outlook data backed up with duplicate of my identity, but that backup was from three weeks ago.

Is there a way to merge the newer emails and contacts that are still on my non-backup identity with the backed up identity, with the intent to not lose any of the data created between now and my last backup?

I also have Outlook 2011 syncing with iCal in order to sync with my iPhone.

Thanks in advance,

catfell
Outlook is hung up at the product splash screen with the message "Searching for identity...". How do I resolve issue. All other Office applications function properly?
I have a folder I keep in Outlook called archive. It's just old emails from friends etc.

My Outlook identity is about 3GB. I guess 2/3 of that is from this folder.

Would the software open/ close or perform better it that folder was removed? thanks.

Hi, i would like to know the procedure in case i want to delete/erase completely my Outlook identity to start fresh and reconfigure all email accounts.
Can you help?
upgraded to mt lion and using outlook 14.2.5.  i notice that emails are disappearing when i file them.  i can't find them ever again.  using exchange server and they are not showing up on the web app either.  help!
PS:  it's also extremely slow at start-up (6+ minutes to set up identity!) and slow for search.
Names of recipients whom I send emails to appear in the Hotmail mother "Sent" box.  However, when I create categories sub-folders and move emails from the mother "Sent" box into these sub-folders, my identity replace identities of those I send emails to.  I move the sent emails back to the mother Hotmail "Sent" box and the recipients id's get restored.  Sub-folders which I move incoming emails to appear ok..
