Phishing Scams?

03. September 2012 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: anyone, hotmail, Hotmail Account, identical emails, limit, Phishing, Phishing Scams, Scams
I've received two identical emails today, both saying my Hotmail account had been suspended because I'd reached my limit on sending and receiving emails.
I was to follow a link and only then would my account be unlocked. I marked them both as phishing scams and got rid of them.
Has anyone else had them?

A new screen after entering user name and password

03. September 2012 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: access, Hotmail Account, number, password, phone, phone number, screen
A friend uses her Hotmail account daily but 2 days ago found that after entering her user name and password another screen comes up saying a password is not enough and asking for her phone number or another email address. This is blocking her access to he emails.  This is not happening on my hotmail account nor the accounts of anyone else it has been mentioned to.  She is understandably reluctant to enter her phone number and doesn't have another email account.  Can anyone confirm if this is genuine.  Many thanks

Title: Question new service agreement

01. September 2012 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: agreement, home, Hotmail Account, information, mail, microsoft, microsoft products, phone, the agreement

I recently received an email that was in my junk mail supposedly from Microsoft stating I needed to sign a new agreement to keep my hotmail account and other services from Microsoft.  It needed information such as my home address, phone number.  It also stated if I did not sign the agreement I would lose all microsoft products.  I don't know if this is a scam but it sounded suspicious to me.  Did Microsoft send out a document to all users.  I can cut and paste it here if you want me to.  Thank you.

Hotmail account hacked and all I can see is gibberish.

Hotmail account hacked.  My hotmail account was hacked on Thursday, Aug 16th and used to transmit fictious e-mails.  Once I realized what was happening, I went and reset my password.  I think I have control of my account again, however, I noticed that I haven't received any new safe communications in my in-box since the date of the hack.  Additionally, I can't read anything or execute any functions.  At first, everythink looked like it was written in Thai, now everything is in gibberish blocs.  I pay Microsoft an annual fee for data storage.  The fact that there isn't a contact phone number and dedicated customer service for subscribers is ridiculous.  If I could think of the appropriate regulatory agency, I'd write to the federal government to lodge a complaint.  From the many threads I've seen, this is a common and frustrating complaint.  People rely on Hotmail for the businesses, staying in touch with loved ones or even looking for employment.  Someone please get my hotmail account fixed!

How do I link my new outlook.com account with Microsoft Outlook for MAC 2011?

03. August 2012 · Write a comment · Categories: Outlook for Mac · Tags: Account, com, hotmail, Hotmail Account, link, Microsoft Outlook, Outlook

I cannot link my new outlook.com account with Microsoft Outlook for MAC 2011.  I have never experienced these problems with my hotmail account, I simply added the hotmail account and it functioned correctly.

I have tried to add a new account, using my new outlook.com details, all to no avail!

What do I do now?

Thanks in advance.
