The only control panel uninstall program I tried was Win Live Messenger Active X.  We do not use social media products.  Win 8 tiles gives us access to all things we need to know.  Messenger gets in the way and sometimes slows down our computers.  With two apps for mail on our Win 8 start tiles, Outlook 2010 and Win 8 mail plus Hotmail icon on my Win 7 Task tray, Live Messenger is of no value to us.  I'm not even sure about Sky Dive, Silver Light or any other related sharing outside of my home group.  The Cloud gives me the storage I need for Home Group Docs, photos etc. and that's about it.  Our Hotmail accounts gives us POP 3 mail server distribution to our Apple mobile products and Mac computers.  SOO...  How do I get out of Win Live Messenger?

Has anyone had experience with this company?
Is it legit or a scam?

I have very old  UNREAD,  emails I did not read,  but lazy  to scroll page to page.

How can I find these  UNREAD email  faster.

Is there a direct menu or control to sort out my UNREAD emails??

i received a phone call at work whereby the caller stated he was from Microsoft and told me that my computer was sending error messages and that I had viruses and that he would show me how to fix it and like a fool, I let him have control of my computer.  Can that person gain access to my information that way?

I received the same call at my home,  My caller ID has him name and phone number.  Who do I report it to?

Hi

Having upgraded to Windows 8 Pro 64 bit, I have discovered that I have limited control of my options, in Windows Live Mail (Essentials 2012 version)!

Prior to the upgrade, and with the 2011 version of WLM, I was able, through the Options facility to select certain actions, such as:

"Send/Receive on Start up!

and

Delete messages from the deleted folder on close down!

The Options Tab, which allowed these choices, was on the tool bar, at the top of the window, just below, and just to the left of the Close Window X!

This facility does not appear on the current 2012 version!

I would appreciate any advice on this matter

At the moment, I have to manually select Send/Receive, and manually delete old messages
