Original Title: "Office 2011 for Mac and Rights Management Service"

Hello,

I am currently in the process of deploying RMS in our organization. I was able to successfully verify functionality of IRM using a Windows 7 machine, It works with OWA and Office Pro 2010.

Now with the problem, I am currently having issues opening up an item on Outlook 2011 for Mac. I get stuck with "Office for Mac cannot connect to the Rights Management Services server".

Couple of things that I verified before posting this:

1. I checked if I could go to https://fqdn/_wmcs/certification/certification.asmx
2. I followed the Information Rights Management in Office for Mac 2011 Deployment Guide.

I'm still trying to search for a solution but I figured, I can ask here at the same time just in case someone has the same issue and they were able to resolve it.

Thanks in advance!

Hi

Having upgraded to Windows 8 Pro 64 bit, I have discovered that I have limited control of my options, in Windows Live Mail (Essentials 2012 version)!

Prior to the upgrade, and with the 2011 version of WLM, I was able, through the Options facility to select certain actions, such as:

"Send/Receive on Start up!

and

Delete messages from the deleted folder on close down!

The Options Tab, which allowed these choices, was on the tool bar, at the top of the window, just below, and just to the left of the Close Window X!

This facility does not appear on the current 2012 version!

I would appreciate any advice on this matter

At the moment, I have to manually select Send/Receive, and manually delete old messages

  • How do I view and edit group contacts? - It used to be so easy. Now it does not appear to be possible. - I suspect an upgrade to the new format will be needed. I, too, HATE this new format at least for management of groups.
