I am amking a backup of my emails.

When I used the export function last time, all the emails were copied but now ONLY the first email in the first folder of the ones I have selected...

I have tried several times, no luck...has this happened to you as well??

What did you do to solve the prob?

Many thanks.

I have tried following the supplied instructions.  It just loops me back to the contacts page without doing anything.

Have you tried to export contacts from your Hotmail account using (.CSV) file?

If no, here are the steps to export contacts from your Hotmail account:

1. Sign in to your Windows Live Hotmail account.
2. At the top of your Windows Live Hotmail page, point your cursor to Hotmail.
3. From the drop down menu, click Contacts.
4. Click the Manage link that is located beside Send e-mail.
5. From the drop down menu select Export.
6. Enter the 8 characters from the picture.
7. Click Export button.
8. Save the file to your preferred location.

After exporting contacts from your Hotmail account, you can now import the contacts to other account.

THIS DOESN'T WORK.  :-(
how do I export my contacts from my messenger account to a file? I have an @messengeruser.com account and can't seem to do anything with the contacts.

c. Installed MS Outlook 2010 Professional.

Encountered Problem.

I followed the instruction on how to migrate emails from Windows Live Mail to MS outlook unfortunately I am receiving errors.

1.  Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please Run MS Outlook and set it as default mail Client.

2. The export could not be performed an error occured while initializing the MAPI.

Corrective Action.

1. Set the MS outlook as the default Mail Client.

2. Checked the Registry Key ( HKEY_ Local_ Machine\ Software\Clients\Mail  = Default :Microsoft Outlook ; PreFirstRun: Either there is no default mail client or current mail client cannot fulfill......

3. Uninstalled and Re install MS Outlook and perform the export of windows live mail to ms outlook.  The same error appears.

Need your professional Help and Thanks in advance.

When I open Outlook, one particular message keeps popping-up.

I have tried deleting but keeps returning. I tried emptying my "deleted items" folder but when I try I'm told I need to rebuild the database.

The data base rebuild utility keeps failing with error -18000.

Tried creating a new identity and copy the database header and copy to main identity (suggested on one of the forums) - no change.

Tried to export - thinking I could import in new identity - export fails.

Everything seems to work normal, as long as I don't try to open the "deleted items" folder.

I'm using a POP account.

Any suggestions?
Ok, so, I'm loving my new mac, but am frustrated with the limited capabilities of Microsoft Office.

I need the ability to edit multiple contacts in outlook. Since I can't export just a group of contacts (not smart, if you ask me!), I need to be able to add a defining column to the contacts so that when I export my contacts to use, I can grab just the two groups that I need. I have catagorized all the contacts, but in the export process, the category isn't included. How can I edit multiple contacts?

For Example:

I have 672 contacts in a group that we'll call "Clients". I have 6 other email groups in outlook. I have catagorized all of the "Clients" emails to be the color orange. I now need to add a column, say "Nickname" and have all 672 contacts updated with a "Nickname" of clients so that when I export to an excel file, I can sort by "Nickname" and grab just my "Client" emails to use in an email campaign through vertical response.

I know this was possible with the windows version, because I did it. Also, the windows version allows for exporting of just certain folders within the contacts.

Microsoft, PLEASE add this feature into outlook! We have got to be able to manage our contacts better!

Frustrated,

Lisa
I recently helped a client move his exchange setup from one host to another. I found the easiest way to approach this problem in Mac (as the import/export function is a forced-bulk operation that I would rather not deal with) was simply to install both the old and new exchange account side-by-side and then drag'n'drop the mails that I wanted to move.

This worked splendidly, and afterwards I removed the old account from his profile. This is where the problem occurs, though. In the bottom status row there's an indication of "moving files: 0/x" with x being the number of mails that we had previously moved to that folder. The messages are now located on the new server, but that status message won't go away. Is there any way to manually cancel a move and as such get rid of the message?
I want to transfer my windows live mail messages to another computer but when I export the folder, it only moves one of the many messages in the folder.  Ho w do I get the entire folder contents?

I have followed the procedure described for exporting Live Mail files from one PC to an external hard drive, with the goal of importing them into Live Mail on a new PC, but the export doesn't pick up any actual files, just a single heading, such as "Drafts". The only thing I could do this successfully with was the Contacts, which I did separately.
i want export all the e-mails  in all of my folders in my windows live mail to a cdrom  or floppy but i cannot find how to do this
