My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium.  I use Windows Live Mail for my email.  My ISP is Time Warner (Rochester, NY).  I can send and receive email, but as of a few days ago, after my real email has been managed, Live Mail continues to indicate that it is downloading email.  The numbers just keep rolling rapidly and don't stop.  Soon the screen is indicating that it has downloaded tens of thousands of emails and is continuing to download more.  No actual emails appear in my mail program and a check at my email account at the Time Warner website shows that there are no emails to download.  Please HELP!

Thank you,

Tom Plutchak

I have Windows Live Mail installed in Windows 8.1 and three POP email addresses. Recently, three times, all my additional folders have mysteriously disappeared along with all my emails. Most of the emails from the last few months then reappear unopened in the three Inbox's. However many important emails that were saved in the vanished folders seem to have gone forever! This problem has only occurred since I upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1. and I have used Live Mail for several years before without any problems. Is Live Mail not compatible with Windows 8.1? If not what do you recommend? Please help!! - Guy.

I have Gmail set up in Live Mail in pop3 mode.

WLM doesn't seem to be deleting the messages from Gmail's trash folder.

Any way around this?

James

whenever i go into live mail  a pop up has started asking me for password.  i've been using livemail for 2-3 years and never needed a password.

Unable to send or receive messages for the Btinternet **** account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR [AUTH] invalid user or password
Server: 'mail.btinternet.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC92
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No

i've reset my password but it still says it's incorrect

it seems i can still send e-mails but am not receiving any

Down the left-hand side of my Live Mail 2012 window is a 'pane' which lists, from top to bottom, Quick Views, Accounts, Storage Folders. If I right-click on this pane, then there is are options to move entries up or down the list.

I have used these options to change the order of my various Accounts, so that the most-used ones are at the top rather than being in alphabetical order. The re-arranged view is preserved when I close Live Mail and Accounts appear again in my chosen order when I re-open Live Mail, so no problem with Accounts.

However...I also used the option to move Storage Folders up the list so that they appear *above* Accounts, but this re-arrangement is lost every time that I close Live Mail. How can I get Live Mail to retain my preference????

Hi, I hope someone can advise, this is driving me nuts! Just got a new computer and am running Live mail 2012 on Windows 7. Everything working just fine until today when after deleting e-mails and sub folders on the old computer - running windows xp - I found that they had also disappeared from the new one.

Eventually I restored Live Mail to an earlier restore point and everything came back. Now comes the weird bit - whenever I close Live mail the subfolders vanish again? The only way I can get them back is to restore again which obviously is not practical. The subfolders are still there somewhere because if I try to create a new subfolder with the same name I get told I can't because it already exists.

I've tried many solutions mentioned online but nothing works -

Any ideas?

Phil

Hello,

I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 on my laptop and have had problems transferring my emails over from Live Mail 2011 to the fresh installation of LM2011.  I exported my existing messages as I have done many times before, but when I imported them into the new install of Live Mail, I discovered that when I go to a particular imported folder, although all the emails are listed correctly, when I click on the top one, it shows okay on the right-hand pane, but then after that, every other email displays exactly the same as the first one I clicked, even though they should be completely different.

Sorry, it's hard to explain - I hope that makes some sort of sense.

I've transferred emails many time before but have never had this happen.  Has anyone come across the problem before?

I'm running Windows 7 (fully updated), Live Mail 2011, on a Sony Vaio VGN-AW31M.

If you need any more details, please feel free to ask!

Thanks for any help you can give,

Darren.

I have been using Live Mail for a long time with no problems until recently.

When I start Live Mail I can connect and receive all my emails.  However, after the initial download from my two mail accounts, Live mail then disconnects.  I am unable to send or receive any additional email.  (using the Update all) It states I am not connected.  If during this process I attempt to send an email, it too is not sent.

The only way to correct this problem is to exit Live Mail and restart.  To make matters worse, I can not stop Live Mail, I must go to Task Manager and abort the tasks (both wlmail.exe and wlcomm.exe).  The status message from Windows Live will indicate that either the sending or receiving is executing.

One other thing that I noticed is that about the same time this problem started, I now have a Live Mail icon down in the system icons.

Thanks in advance
