trying to sort contacts using categories
I have installed Office for Mac and used it for past 8 months. Now I want to use the Outlook module . It ask for product key . Refuse to accept my product key although XL and Word operate normally . What now ?
I am using Outlook 2011 and am moving my email accounts from POP to IMAP.  I have thousands of emails and under POP, I liked the fact that I had it configured that when I deleted emails on my laptop, they would still be on the server (as a backup).  Under IMAP, it has brought back ALL of these emails into my Outlook and I am concerned about disk space.

How do I configure Outlook so I can delete and IMAP email on my laptop, have it "removed" from my PC but still leave a copy on the server?

Thanks

Hi - I am using Microsoft Outlook for Mac Apple; I shut down my Mac because of a frozen programme and when I re-opened all my emails accounts, emails and contacts had vanished. They seem however to be somewhere as they appear in 'my all files'. When clicking on a email file there I get the message: 'outlook cannot open the file because it is not associated with the default identity'.

I have seen the below tips on the net to resolve this problem but don't know which 'option' key I am suppose to use in point 2.
  1. Close Outlook.
  2. Press Option and click Outlook in the Dock - this will open a Microsoft Database Utility window.
  3. If you have more than one identity in the list, choose one that isn't bolded.
  4. Click
, and choose Set as Default.
  5. Close the window, and start Outlook.
 Thanks,

Caroline

Hi folks

I am currently running MS Office on a MacBook Air.   My question relates specifically to Outlook.   I am using Outlook for Mac 2011 (Version 14.2.4 (120824)).

I make extensive use of folders to organise my email but in recent months they have become somewhat unpredictable.

I have two issues that I'd appreciate some guidance with:

1.  The main problem is that I can't rename newly created folders.   It creates the folder without a problem and calls it 'Untitled Folder'.   If I do either a slow double-click or right-click and select 'Rename Folder' it will very briefly look like I can edit it (blue background) but before I can press a single key the background reverts to grey and I can't change it.  On the odd occasion I can get a single letter typed but that's it.   So, I've now got a series of folders that either start with 'Untitled Folder' and then a number, or which have just a single letter as a name, 'B' for example.   This is getting to be really frustrating.   Any ideas?  Solutions?

2.  My second issue, is on a related topic.   If I try and drag an email from my inbox and deposit it to one of the folders it won't actually move it.  If the destination folder is positioned at the top of bottom of the list of folders then it work fine but if it's somewhere in the middle of the list, it just won't work.  The 'Move' button at the top of the screen works fine but this isn't the most efficient option.   Any thoughts?

Many thanks

Stuart
About 6 months ago the answer was given that two different time zones could not be displayed in the Outlook for Mac calendar.  Has this feature been added?  If not, it's high time that it was.
I have an archive .pst file which I wish to view but do not want to import all its contents into my 2011 Outlook for Mac email file. How can this be done?

I am trying to send a holiday e-card that has animation to some of our clients. I have Outlook 2011 for Mac. The email is set up in html w/ the image embedded in the body.  It works and plays perfectly in my Outlook when I send it to myself, without having to view it in a web browser. However, when I email it to other people in our office who have 2007 and 2010 versions of Outlook for Windows, they have to click on the link to be able to view the animation. Is there a solution to this problem? It seems pretty silly that the animation would play across all email platforms besides Outlook 2007 and 2011. Thanks in advance.
