I keep getting the error message, 8e5e0516. It doesn't let me sign into WLM (Windows Live Messenger). I'm using Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.308). This problem started up back in July. I haven't been able to sign into the program since. If I want to sign in via hotmail.com though, I can use messenger through there. I have changed my password and tried to sign in again but it doesn't work.
I'm running WLM under Windows 7 64-bit. I use custom storage folders with a primary header folder then dated sub folders. Today I transferred highlighted emails from my input folder to one of the dated sub folders. I found that all the transferred messages were exactly the same. There was also an identical message in the Primary header folder but when I deleted it all the messages in the sub folders, when I tried to open them, resulted in a 'Cannot be Found' message. I've tried the WLM repair function via the Control Panel but the result is still the same. I've not has this problem when I transfer single emails from the input folder to Storage but only when I select a group of emails & try to transfer them to a Storage folder.
Just installed WLM on my Vista machine and I can't access the Public, Private, and Limited privacy settings.

I am setting up my new computer (Win7, plenty of memory, etc .. ) .  I am now setting up a second "account" with its own Windows Live Mail and would like to have my "contacts" shared with the second user.  I just haven't figured out where the file is and how to attach it to the second WLM .

Thanks in advance ..........  Ron

New Machine with win7, 64bit, 1-SSD (C:) and 1-HDD (D:). The 1st user is running on WLMail (WLM). I would like to have a second WLMail client application running on the system for a 2nd user, so that both users don't have to run/share on the same client. We shared OE on the old computer and would now like our own, separate email client, but on this same computer.  Password/security is not an issue on each client.  Can I do this with WLM ??

Thanks .........  Ron

Whenever WLM automatically checks for new messages at a time interval, the first of my two email accounts fails to get messages and the message dialog pops up saying some errors occurred but there are no errors listed in the "Errors" tab and the "Tasks" tab shows only the second account is processed with a green arrow. The first account is listed but no green arrow showing it was processed. If I do a send and receive using the "Send/Receive" icon or [F5] for all accounts everything works fine. There is also no problem when WLM starts up.

I'm running this on a Windows 7 Professional laptop. I have tried for a year to solve this with updates, uninstall/reinstall, removing and adding accounts, etc. I would love to fix this so it works as expected but I would settle for a solution that just prevents the dialog from popping up every 10 minutes when WLM autochecks for new messages and the first account fails to process. Is there a way to suppress that dialog?

I have a XP computer that I ran Outlook Express on for a number of years then upgraded to Window Live and Windows Live Mail, all without any problems. I recently bought a new computer and wanted to extract the WLM folders from the XP machine and transplant them on the new Windows 7 machine or at least import them to the new machine.
I can only find the old Outlook Express folders that contain two year only mail. When I look in WLM, tools, option, advanced, maintenance, store Folder, on the XP machine, it gives me a location. When I go to that location it does not exist. How can the program work? Better still where are the folders?
In folder view all the necessary boxes are unchecked giving me full view access to files and folders.
I need to resolve this.

How do you get WLM message rules to be based on highlighted message such that the sender is populated for the user in the rules diaglog ("certain people"). I have been looking for the information for hours now.

My old disk crashed but I have my files backed up.  How do I import 'message rules' from my old WLM?  Right now, when I imported my mail, it all went into Trash and the new incoming mail is going into the Inbox.

What file do I need to find in my old mail?

Thanks
