i received an email from windows live team saying that they discover a virus in one of my folders in my email and i have to send them my name and password and if i don't do that within 2 weeks, i will loose my email .

do you think it is true ?

Can't save aphoto or other attachments ... on trying message says its got a virus and was deleted - and that even if the attachment is from microsoft - my friends photos don't conatin virus's either and although I can open I can't save to my gallery - many thanks

Does Microsoft/Hotmail actually send you an email saying you have received too many messages? And then ask you to “confirm” your information? Or is this a virus scam?

Received an email supposedly from microsoft/hotmail - It gives Message ID 66198 - says I need to confirm my identity etc as I have received too much email in the last 7 days. Is this a scam or for real. Strange thing is Hotmail's spam filters indicate there may be an issue with the message. Do I just dump it? Or do I really need to confirm information to get getting my emal.

DGTFX Virus Detection

I recently received an email porporting to be from Microsoft concerning a DGTFX Virus detected in my folders. The email warns that my hotmail account will be shut down unless I reply with my logon and account security details. Is this email genuine or a fraud? I have been trying to find a Microsoft email address that I can email my concerns to but unless, I may being stupid, they are well hidden. Overall, not a user-friendly experience so far in terms of communicating my concerns. I'm hoping that this is more successful. If you have answer, can you also please email me directly on *** Email address is removed for privacy ***?

I recieved an email saying that i have a DGTFX virus in my files and that I need to upgrade to a DGTFX Anti-virus. It says I need to fill out my Full Name, username, passoword, date of birth and country or they are gonna delete my account so they dont get infected. Is this legit?? I called and got some help from a number .off my windows help and they guy took over my computer but it all seemed pretty legit. Im not really a gullable type of person but now I'm wondering

The Hotmail account is active and has been for over a decade
I did NOT delete the folders- just got up one AM last week and they were gone
I have restarted my PC and logged in on my Windows phone, my Windows 8 PC, my iphone and my kindle without problems
I am getting new emails so the account has not been deleted
I do not have a virus on my machine
I have not opened up any "bad" apps or emails
I really need them back

I cannot find anything online except that others have had a similar issue. Please help me. Thanks

I got an e-mail from the Microsoft Team they saidthey would have to reset my password because an e-mail I received had a Virus they said if they did not hear from me in 24 hours they would block Hot MailThey wanted to know my user name and password I hit Reply and a prompt came up

which said do not give your information out so I didn't and now my e-mail is blocked and I do not know what to do

i keep signing in at mutilple places despite only using 1 computer?

i use my pc at home, and i randomly keep signing in at another 1-2 locations, i have no other browsers running, and i changed my password a few weeks back yet its still doing it.

have i been subject to hacking or a virus? if so what more can i do
