I cannot get into my email (windows live) when I click on the icon on my desktop. It shows the hourglass for a few seconds and then it stops. I can get into my email through my provider's web site, so they said it was a Microsoft problem. When I called microsoft, the microsoft person sent me to the support page that only suggested we change our password. Ths was done successfully, but we still can't access email through the windows live icon. Can someone please help us with this?
I am having problems accessing my hotmail account.  I have sent details of this problem to the forum.  The answers I have been given aren't relevant to the problem and will not help.  I want to speak to a real live living breathing person who know something about this and I find it much easier to absorb and respond to information and advice this way and I read that there is no such facility available for Hotmail issues.  I find this extremely unsatisfactory and frustrating and would like to know why this kind of help isn't available.  It isn't as though Microsoft needs to cut costs.

If anyone knows how I can access a helpline that is authorised and without an extortionate fee I would be very grateful as I have  now been trying to access my hotmail account for ten days.
I merged as suggested but do not like. I was quite happily using both Messenger and Skype.  Every time I tried to message on my Skype, which I do ready for my Skpype person to see if I didn't actually want to video call them,  it made a phone call. So I unmerged, and now I cannot seem to restore my Open up Messenger on Startup. I liked it that way. Any help please I have Windows 7

Why has Hotmail suddenly started grouping any emails Sent/Received to/from the same person together?  Have I hit a button accidentally?  Can I stop it?  I find it very confusing.  I like my Sent and Inbox emails to be stored separately in the appropriate place.

Hi.I'm in fight with one person and we are not talking.I have this person on MSN and I can see him when he comes online. But is it still posible that he deleted me?I was reading through the internet that you can still see someone online even if that person deleted you.I'm using 2009 version of messenger for windows xp.I've tried this, options -> privacy and then who has me(or add me?) as a contact but that person isn't there. So am I deleted or...?
I can not search through my e-mail for similar e-mails from/to the same person.  Each time I try, I get an error reading.  I need the feature to finish a project.  How do you fix that problem?

Every time I write a new email message to a contact listed under S another email address for a deleted contact still keeps popping up in the drop down box.

This person is not in my contact list and all emails from and to them are deleted. So why can't I get rid of their email address?

When you clicked the vertical arrow on the top-left corner and then clicked People, you will see a list of people in your contacts list.
Then when you clicked on any one of the contacts in the list from the left, you should see the person's profile picture and his/her contact on the right.
However, out of the many contacts I have, there's only one contact in which I can only see his name and profile picture, but the column for Social/Email/etc. is missing entirely.

What does this mean?
I am getting offensive spim from a Hotmail user that I don't know who is not on my contact list. I would certainly like to block that specific person and others of their ilk. However, I don't see any means of doing that even in Messenger 2011 updated to 2012. Furthermore, I'm unable to work around that by preparing a "Limited Access List" which I have done by putting a user from my contact list on the limited access list. (I was unable to put the spimmer on the limited list). I still was unable to select "Some Messenger Friends" even after this, and, yes, the user is listed in the "Limited Access" box. And I sure as **** don't want to accept the spimmer as a contact just in order to subsequently blacklist "it" even if it worked.
A few months ago I cleaned up my contacts, and added this particular person back in with a new contact card. I invited him to messenger though he never saw the invite. we are in each others messenger list but appear offline to each other and cannot send/receive messages either way.
