The Deleted Items folder is indeed empty. I am running version 14.2.3 which was installed today, July 12, 2012. This problem started today prior to the update installation.
Within Outlook I have dragged messages from my inbox to a folder but only some of them reached the destination folder - the others have just disappeared. How can I find where they have gone? The reason to put them in a folder was to make these important email easier to find so this is extremely frustrating!

I am creating rules for my new Outlook 2011 setup. After creating 4 rules successfully, suddenly I can't choose the correct folder to "move" or "copy" messages to. When I choose "move" and select "Choose Folder," a search box comes up. But when I type in the name of the folder I want, Outlook can't find it. This happens even when I'm looking right at the folder in the navigation pane--and even if I choose a folder that I have successfully chosen for a previous rule.

I tried quitting and also restarting my computer, but neither of them fixed the problem. Any guesses? Thanks for your help!

I'm under the impression that the "Inbox (on my computer)" should be a default folder located along with the other folders in the left had nav bar (it is not there).  My account is an exchange server but I need to archive older mail onto my computer.  I assume this is the reason that my computer is not archiving the email even though I have set up the rule and enabled it.

Please help.

I can add a new folder to Outlook 2011 for Mac however when I try to rename this folder it suddenly becomes un-highlighted so I cannot even rename the folder. This is very frustrating and happens 100% of the time. I have dozens and dozens of folder names.

To start the rename I can either double-click the new folder name, or right-click and choose Rename.

I'm using IMAP for my email accounts.
Hi

When I go into the sent or Inbox folder and SEARCH for a name e.g. Mark Airman, Outlook shows me all the emails I sent to/received from Mark Airman. When I click on one of the emails, and then sort by 'To' or 'From' the email goes all the way to the bottom and then I have to go looking for Mark Airman again.

Is there a way for me to, after I have searched for somebody and clicked on their email, to sort so that I see all the emails I have sent/received from that person?

(Note if I don't search for the person it works fine, its only when I search and then sort that the emails get jumbled)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
