I have a thousand or so unread emails in my gmail inbox.  How can I sort my inbox to read and unread or other means to group these unread messages and delete them?
Hi

This all started yesterday.  The icon for outlook showed an unread count and the inbox showed the same number.  I have subsequently cleared the inbox but still it shows an unread count.  I have searched for unread mail but none can be found.

I've checked on my web view of the same account and there are no unread messages there.

I have tried restarting outlook and rebooting the mac but these have made no difference.

What has changed and I don't know why is that the doc icon no longer displays the incorrect unread count but the GUI still does.

Any ideas what I should do.

Thanks
Since I loaded Window Live on a tablet that is not my primary computer I would like to be able to have live mail Auto delete unread messages so when I do use it I do not have to delete 100's of "unread" messages that I have already read on my desk top.
All of my text messages are counting as unread emails when I sign in to my Outlook on my pc.  I no longer know how many unread messages I actually have in my inbox.  I did disable my SMS sync, which seems to prevent new text messages from adding to the problem, but I can't seem to alter this number in any way (ie. by deleting these text messages through the email app on my Android).

Also my Outlook Deleted folder is showing that there are deleted messages in it when there are none there, so I am constantly checking it only to find nothing there.

I really would like to get my Outlook back to normal on my pc, and would probably even disable/get rid of my email app on the phone if that's what it takes, as I don't really use it there anyway.  All I really would like my phone to be able to do is to check emails while I am away and possibly reply, but I don't need to use my phone as a primary device/method for dealing with emails.

Any information on how to correct this would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you.
Outlook InBox says I have X+1 unread messages - I can only see X
When I open my e-mail (converted from Hotmail), and I read all my new e-mails, I still have 74 showing next to Inbox in my Folders list.  But if I click on "Unread" I get a message that I have no unread messages.  Do I really have unread messages that I can not see? I can clear out the number, but are there really unread messages?  Which do I go by?  The same happens with the POP and Junk folders.
My outlook says I have unread messages, but when i look at my inbox theres nothing. I check all other folders, but there is nothing there. How do I find these unread messages?
On my Samsung Galaxy s4, I enabled the sync SMS option, but I can not find the messages in hotmail.  Every time I received a text, the inbox indicated that I had an unread message, but I can not find them to read them or delete them.  My inbox has 58 new unread messages "Inbox (58)", but the new messages do not show on the right hand side of the screen.  I have tried to view only unread messages, but when I do that, no messages are displayed.  I sat on the phone with Verizon for 1.5 hours to try to solve this problem, but it appears to be a hotmail problem, not a verizon problem, so they do not know how to solve it.

On my phone, I have now turned off the option to sync SMS, and I would like to get rid of those unread messages in hotmail.  I can't access those unread SMS messages to delete them from my inbox, so my hotmail inbox perpetually states that there are 58 unread messages.

Hello,

I have my hotmail going through my iphone4 and the iphone4 is suddenly not recognizing the messages as 'read' unless I have read them on the iphone (versus my computer).  It was fine up until yesterday.  Is there anything I can do to fix this?  It makes it look like I have tons of unread messages, when I really have none.

Thanks,

Patti

I have a message in a folder in Outlook.com. In the Android app, the app shows the folder as empty. Why? Does the app show only new unread messages in user created folders? I tried syncing several times but the folder always shows "No messages".

(I see nothing about Android or even mobile in any dropdown when posting a message in this forum)
