Have received some odd emails

Hi

I have received two odd emails from *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

The first one goes

Microsoft account
Security info confirmation
It looks like you added some security info to your Microsoft account (xxxxx@hotmail.com): (Not my account)
Alternate email address:xxxxxx@gmail.com (Also not my account)
You can use this info to reset your password if you forget it.

The second email goes

The account security information for your Microsoft account (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) (Not my email) is scheduled to be removed.
- *** Email address is removed for privacy *** (this is my account

If you didn't make this request then someone else may have your password. We'd like to help you get your account back. Please go to the following website to change your password and restore your account security information:

Forgotten parental account security questions…

01. November 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: account security, normal account, parental controls
When I first got my Xbox and created an account for it, I for some reason ended up making two accounts, one being the actual account and another being a parental account which had parental controls over my normal account (this was done by complete accident).

Anyway, this has never bothered me up until now as I have just ignored the parental account and solely used my normal account. However, when I tried to log into my Xbox Live account today, I was asked to accept some new Terms Of Service, and along with it confirm the password for my parental account.

Considering the fact that I have NEVER once used the parental account, and it was created quite a long time ago, I have completely forgotten any and all details that relate to it, including the answer to my Security Question. As such, I have been unsuccessful when it comes to recovering the password for it (I have filled out multiple forms) and am unable to log into Xbox Live as a result.

I would be extremely grateful if there is anyone that can assist me in this matter as this honestly seems like the last hope I have of ever being able to sign into Xbox Live again.

      Hi,

You have changed your primary alias from *** Email address is removed for privacy *** to *** Email address is removed for privacy ***.

If this is correct, you don't need to do anything.

If this is incorrect, please follow these steps:
      1. Reset your password by going to https://account.live.com/password/reset
      2. Change your primary alias by going to https://account.live.com/

      Thanks,
      The Microsoft account team

None of which I am doing, I have changed my password twice now and have had my email be used for someone else's Facebook as well. I want this fixed I want the names who are NOT ME removed from any and all access to my account. Or I want a number for Microsoft because this is an issue I deal with every week lately.

IP Login information for Hotmail account – request for information

    06. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: account security, Request for information, security code

    Greetings all!

Today, when I logged in I was prompted that my account security was in doubt. I forwarded the security code (as requested) to my alternative email account and logged in and reset my password. Strange thing is that my sig file, a very academic quotation, was then missing. I have recently left an academic job and our union noted that the employer there had the ability to 'sift' through out internet usage whereby collecting the keystrokes of our passwords so they could then log into our Hotmail (or other private email account) with justification that we were using their firewall.

I would like to see if the IP of that employer has shown up in my last 3 months (or more) of usage. Other folks who have posted here reported getting at least 2 months and up to 24 IP logins upon request.

    Pointers?

    David

    Account Restoration

    31. August 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Account Restoration, account security, requirements

I have about had it with the account security and such. A part of your requirements to secure my XBOX Live Account, somehow my PRIMARY live account is gone, poof, deleted, awol, you name it, it does not exist. Neither does the temporary account I created (per YOUR instructions), it is gone too. I do NOT fall into the category of "unused accounts" - all of this happened LAST WEEK! Your site is so convoluted that I could hardly located any help information. Lastly, how am I supposed to get all of this restored? I NEED that information.

    Account security email

    29. August 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: account security, Account security email
I keep getting security confirmations for an email address that is similar to my, but not mine.  I now have one stating account security is to be removed and lists both emails.  When I login (to chaage password as recommended) I'm expected to login with the account that is not mine!  Has this happeded to anyone else and if so what should I do? I concerned about my email account being closed if I don't respond.

My mail is not being forwarded between previously linked accounts!

    Dear Outlook Team,

Re the following, recently received from your Security Team:

    Microsoft account
Account linking will soon be discontinued
To help increase account security, the option to link multiple accounts will be discontinued.
Your accounts will remain unchanged, but to switch between them, you'll need to sign out of one and sign into the other. Also, the account menu in the upper right of Outlook.com will no longer list your multiple accounts.
Would you like to send and receive all your mail from all your accounts in one place?

If so, see Send and receive email from other accounts in Outlook.com.

Have set up forwarding for my previously linked accounts, but it is not working( tried resetting, but no difference ).

Am able to manually forward, but auto is NOT working!

    Please advise.

    Thank You,
    Mark W Allen.

    DGTFX Virus Detection

    29. December 2012 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: account security, answer, Folders, microsoft, privacy, security, virus, Virus Detection

I recently received an email porporting to be from Microsoft concerning a DGTFX Virus detected in my folders. The email warns that my hotmail account will be shut down unless I reply with my logon and account security details. Is this email genuine or a fraud? I have been trying to find a Microsoft email address that I can email my concerns to but unless, I may being stupid, they are well hidden. Overall, not a user-friendly experience so far in terms of communicating my concerns. I'm hoping that this is more successful. If you have answer, can you also please email me directly on *** Email address is removed for privacy ***?

    Much appreciated
