I have recently installed Office 2011: Mac and am now using Outlook for my email. Attachments are being auto-compressed. I would like to disable this "feature." Any advice out there?
Because of an identity corruption problem, I had to create a brand new identity and re-synch all my mail with my IMAP Gmail accounts.  This all seemed to download fine, but on further examination, only the headers in Sent mail have been downloaded.  None of the messages are there.  If I click on a message header, it says Downloading .... and downloads the message.  So the data's there on the gmail server.  (I confirmed this by looking at the gmail account through a browser).  But I'm looking for a way to force it to download all the sent mail because unless it's been downloaded, it can't be searched.  Additionally, I can't tell if there was an attachment until the message has been downloaded.

Under Tools/Accounts - Advanced/Folders, I saw that the radio button for "don't save a copy of sent messages" was selected.  Why, I have no idea - perhaps that's the default for a new IMAP account?  In any event, I changed it to "Store sent messages in this folder" and selected Sent Items (Server).  It now seems to be saving sent mail there.

My question is, how do I get it to download all the prior sent mail (not just the headers)?  I tried Synchronize Now, and that didn't work.
Updated 14.2.2 and having issues with Office including the already mentioned ribbon issues with PP and Word.  However my Excel won't even open and my main issue is with Outlook.

Upon starting Outlook I'm asked to select an identity.  There are a number of them available but I can't find anything most recent...they are all from 2011 and I believe from before I purchased my MacBook Pro.  And when I select one I get the extremely helpful "Could not change to that identity."

So it's as if everything since then has disappeared.

So the most important thing is trying to find where the devil my most recent emails have gone and then I guess it's a matter of reinstalling Office???

Thanks.

I am running a MacBook Pro with Office 2011 for Mac

My sent mail is going to my inbox instead of my sent mail folder.  There are no rules present to do this.  It is very annoying.  any answers.

I have reinstalled Office 2011 for Mac and it didn't change anything.

I would greatly appreciate any wisdom.
I have been having HUGE issues with the "Main Identity" and Database. In all this mess I seemed to have lost all my archived email messages that I have save "On my Mac".

I have been saving all my emails on Time Machine, I just do not know where they are and how I can get them back to my new "Main Identity"

Thx Much for any help you can provide.

I need to change my outlook e-mail and password Please advise!
can't right click on an email

I select an email in my inbox or any subfolder and right click (control+click).
A blue box appears around the message and no right-click menu appears
Text (From/Subject/Date Received) changes from black to gray.
Outlook 14.2.2

One of the features in Entourage which i can't find in Outlook is being able to isolate your search within your email inbox/sent/deleted folders.  In Entourage i could type in someones name and the emails from that person would be the only emails that the inbox would show me.  Right now, i'll use the 'arrange by' tab and then 'from' and the emails will all be arranged by people's name but they WILL NOT be ISOLATED to the specific name i want.  any answers? it's driving me nuts.
I began getting a rebuild Outlook data base message about a week or so ago...rebuilt the data base as requested then the system would not open and gave me a "not enough memory error". Unable to get into Outlook at all as the error message pops up every time I try to get into Outlook.  All other, Office applications work fine. How do I fix. I have a MAC Pro 4 core Tower.
Does Outlook not give a Preview of older versions of Excel and Word?  We tried to Preview a .xls and it came up with the icon symbol rather than the contents.  But it has no issue previewing a .xlsx file.
