My password is correct, but I keep getting this error message in Outlook: The server for account “Yahoo” returned the error “[AUTH] Access to this service is not permitted..” Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?

Using Mountain Lion and Office 2011. Went away over Christmas over which time my MacBook Pro had gone into hibernation as the battery level had dropped and I'd left the original power supply in the office. Go a new one today and powered up. Tried to go into Outlook which downloaded the outstanding mail and the posted an error that the database needed rebuilding. This the Database Daemon has steadfastly refused to do. After reading through some of the posts here none seemed to address the exact issue I have because after several attempts to recover as suggested I now had a dialog box permanently up saying the Database needs to be rebuild. Close this dialog down and another will open immediately. Try to rebuild the database and a dialog box will open immediately suggesting that I rebuild the database, and another, and another, and another. I've had up to 7 of these dialog boxes open at one time.

So I restored from the backup in Time Machine to the latest full backup, then recovered all my post, which was OK until all the software updates also came down. On rebooting I'm back where I started - rebuild the database with the dialog box refusing to go away. Closing the Daemon doesn't solve the problem as it restarts itself.

So How can I stop this dialog box, rebuild the database and get on with my life?

Best regards

I was formerly using PGP version 11 (if I remember correctly) with MS Entourage that was part of Office 2008.   I encountered problems with PGP so I went to GPG2 along with Thunderbird 17 and Enigmail.

I've now upgraded to Office 2011 and am wondering if it's possible to use Outlook under GPG2 (for email message encryption).  Does anyone know if this can be done?

Thanks,

Rocky

I need an app to sync my macbook with my windows phone 8X by HTC.
This one drove me crazy this morning. Outlook is changing a word I'm spelling correctly:

statistic

It has it underlined Red, even though it's spelled ok— why?

and then it wants to change it to nonsensical

 statistiek

Sounds crazy, not making this up. thanks.
I have set up "rule" on outlook in order to autoforward incoming messages from my work email to my gmail. However, the messages stuck in outbox and needs to manually triggered.

Hello all,
I just installed Microsoft Office for Mac Home and Student 2011 (It says so on the installation DVD too.)  Chart on the back of the box says that the Home & Student version did not include Outlook, which is also why I purchased it.  After installing Office on my MacBook Pro Retina by following all of the standard prompts, it did install Outlook.  I did not expect that.  How can I remove it.  Do I need to do a full uninstall of the entire office Suite, then select a "custom" install when re-installing it or something like that?
I have Office 2011 for Mac and can't find a box to check to make the "contact list" automatically pop-up when I want to forward an email that was sent to me.I only can type a letter or two into the" to,cc,or bcc" line then it lets me ONLY choose from the list available with those letters in it. I'd like to be able to see the entire "contact list" at one time and choose from that.
Pc uses have a box to click on just to the left of each line to, cc, and bcc that provides the entire contact list.
Where is the option that allows me to see the entire contact list  when choosing "forward"????
