Hi all,
I need some help please adding a new Outlook.com email address account to my HTC Android handset. I've already installed the Outlook.com app - I also want to add the new account so that it appears with my other (non-Outlook) email accounts under the Email icon on my phone.

I've followed all available guidance on Outlook.com and HTC. After trying to add the new account, I get a 'Cannot connect to the mail server to verify your account information. Your server is not responding message.

Under the 'Choose a mail provider' option, I've tried adding the new account as a Windows Live Hotmail account, and also as a POP3/IMAP account. For the latter, POP server is entered as 'outlook.com', security type is 'none' (I've tried 'SSL' but get the same response) and still get the same message.

Would the '...cannot connect to the mail server....' message refer to my Aol server/browser (default) or the new Outlook server? I have two Aol email accounts and one Gmail account on my phone for some time now and all added without any difficulties.

Thanks in anticipation of any help anyone has here.....

Cheers.
I've been having a lot of problems with the lack of storage capacity on my mobile but cannot keep up with the deleting as it is very slow, after trawling through Orange for months and following instructions and then onto HTC themselves and following every suggestion, and going through all the storage sync facility apps such as google play and evernote etc which cannot be used at this point in time due to lack of room to upload, so going through mob found had forward email capacity checked with htc and yes I had this available all the time so tried and didn't work all day, back to both hyc and Orange and Bt and they've all said no problem their end so it comes down to hotmail problem not accepting emails from phone, my mob keeps breaking, I need it desperately so please could anyone help me?

I recently was forced to accept a Samsung Galaxy 4G as an insurance replacement for my lost HTC Sensation.  Outlook.com was installed on the HTC and functioned without issue.

On the Samsung, Outlook.com reports that "HTML is not supported" and displays the message as plain text.

If I use Outlook.com to forward the email to my gmail.com account all works fine.  Outlook.com on android appears to have and issue.  I;ll try here before taking the app off my phone.

Thanks

I have been syncing my contacts successfully for some time between my Windows 8 computer running Outlook under Office 2010, my live.co.uk account online and my HTC 1X+ smartphone using Exchange ActiveSync.  A few days ago a number of contacts disappeared from my phone and no matter what I try, I cannot get them back.

I have removed the ActiveSync configuration and re-created it many times.  I have even hard reset my HTC and started again but the same contacts are still not being copied over to the phone.

I can make changes (add/modify/delete) on my computer and these are synched up to my People in my live.co.uk account and vice verse.  Some changes and deletions appear to get through to my HTC but definitely no Adds.  However, I can add a contact on my HTC which is then sync'd to my live.co.uk account and onwards to my computer.  If I try to add names which did not get sync'd I end up with two entries with the same name in my live.co.uk People list and in my Outlook Contacts on my computer.

Some Entries appear be being duplicated and triplicated in the contacts on my phone

The sync process in Exchange ActiveSync on my HTC will show "Syncing now..." for  several minutes for Contacts but is almost instant for Calendar, Mail and Tasks.  Often it fails with the message "Sync is currently experiencing problems.  It will be back shortly."

I'm not sure if it is significant or coincidental but the contacts which disappeared from my phone appeared to be those I called or who called me as their names disappeared from the call history, leaving just the phone number.  I even thought that may have been the cause of the problem and deleted the whole of my call history.

I am at my wit's end because, as mentioned, I am missing contacts that I phone regularly.

Hi.

I hope some kind soul can help me with my query.

I have Win live mail 2011, and quite like it. However, I have set up a signature, but want to add a couple more signatures for the 3 different email accounts I have.

For example, I have a sent from my "$%^$'s HTC" account.

And I have a standard email account.

Then I have my "not giving you my primary" email account.

So, would it be possible to set it up so that when I send an email from my HTC account it inserts the "sent from my HTC" signature, and then if I send an email from my Standard account it will insert the standard signature as opposed to the HTC one?

I do this so I can keep tract of whom I emailed and from where.

PS I know I can use the "Insert sig" from the drop down menu, but I was wondering if it could be set up as I have asked above.

Many thanks.

I need an app to sync my macbook with my windows phone 8X by HTC.
