I just upgraded from Entourage 2008 to Outlook 2011 running on Lion and there seems to be an important function in Entourage that is not in Outlook. How do I link a new note to an email message? I see where the Notes tab is located in the lower left corner but I don't see how to link the note to an existing email message that I have received in the InBox. This was possible in Entourage. Also I could link a calendar event, task and even link one email message to another although I did not use those functions but really miss the note to email linking option. How can I do that? Thanks
Original Title: "Outlook is terrible"

I downloaded Outlook because of the MS hype about it. I experienced the following problems:
1.  I cannot see the "Options" in the blue bar on top without pointing my cursor at the bar and dragging across to have those options appear.

2. I can no longer open an email addressee's info to change or add an email address.  I downloaded Outlook as it was hyped as such a good product.  At this point I think it stinks (technical word).

3.  I called an 800 number that was supposed to be a support line for the home user.  I connected with someone in India who told me that to fix "My" problem I would have to pay him $69.95 (Oh! it is a one time charge..give me a break!)

Can anybody out there help me fix "MY" problem.  Somebody should have a looong chat with M. Gates.  This really stinks!

When I create a new email to send, the option for spell check is missing. Noticed it after I "upgraded to Outlook" . Of interest is when I upgraded to Outlook all my screens looked the same but all my contacts were lost. Some how managed to recover the contacts but is was blind luck.

Notice right after there was not spell check option but had it before. Not sure the upgrade installed due to all my screens and options look the same except for the spell check.  Also keep getting prompts or ads to upgrade.

Am i supposed to have a people tab in my new hotmail program? i can't find it. Please help
Also when I click  ctrl +shift + v nothing happens. I want to move some emails from my Inbox box to some files. How can I unlock the Move to box so that I can use the function?
Greetings,
How do you activate the developer tab in Outlook 2011?

Background:
In Word and Excel 2011, there is a ribbon customization "gear" at the far right of the ribbon, which is used to activate the developer tab.
This is very easy to find and use.
However, this icon does not appear in Outlook 2011.

Searching for this simple option in the typical resources does not yield useful information:
The menu option View/Customize Toolbars provides no options to change the tabs.
Preferences contains no options for Toolbars

In Outlook 2011 Help, the term "developer tab" does not provide any results. Other terms such as "ribbon preferences", which is the term used on Word 2011's "gear" also does not provide useful results.
If you search on "tabs", the "Customize Outlook window" result only offers the option to minimize the ribbon so that only the existing tabs appear.
When reviewing

In the KB, ( kb "outlook for mac" "developer tab" ) provides no relevant hits, nor do any number of other searches using terms such as "customize ribbon", etc.

since hotmail updated the look of their email page i can no longer find the tab that allows me to forward an individual e-mail i have received to someone else. can anyone help. thanks
I use Outlook.com as my email and generally enjoy it.  When I click on calendar, it goes to Hotmail calendar.  No biggie.  I guess they are related.  However, when I create a calender event and try to invite people from my "People" list, it tells me there are no people on the list.  If I click on the people tab from my Outlook inbox, it is fully populated.  I have no idea why the calendar app does not see the names in my people list.  Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,

Darren
Hi,

On September 19, 2012, Update 14.2.4 was releases for Office for Mac 2011, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2742588.

Since that update I am having trouble syncing my folders to Google Mail. Most of the time the sync just aborts without any message. Sometimes I get an error saying that the client cannot authenticate to the Google Mail IMAP server and I can re-enter my details. To no avail.

Most articles and blogs about this issue suggest turning off the "Send multiple commands to server simultaneously" option. Unfortunately that option is not present in the Server tab of the Advanced option of the Google Mail IMAP account I have created.

In fact, the option I can see in that tab don't match with what is described in the corresponding help documentation. See http://twitpic.com/b3or30/full. Anybody know what's going on here? Maybe I'll need to downgrade to 14.2.3 but that feels a bit, euh, backward.

Thx for any hints on how to fix this! Regards, Vincent.
