I am running Mac OS 10.6.8 on a Mac Book Pro with 4 GB of RAM.
I have three accounts set up in Outlook 2011 -- two Exchange accounts on a corporate server and one Gmail account. My database is just under 1 GB. I have a considerable amount of mail stored in the computers under "On this computer."
In the last week the program has become unusably slow. Double-clicking on a message and opening it takes about 15 seconds. I get the spinning beach ball nearly every time I open a message.
Should I rebuild my database? Trash preferences? Please help. I may have to abandon ship.
Thanks.

I was having problems opening Outlook 2011. When I was able to open it all my data was gone. I tried different identities in the identities folder but none of them have data. I do have saved identities in Time Machine -- how can I export these to get my old mail?

When I sign in to hotmail, about 5 seconds after the normal inbox screen comes up, the screen switches to the "new" mail screen. This happens whether I actually open an email and attempt to read it or just leave it on the "inbox" screen. I have been
using hotmail on the same computer for a couple of years and never had this problem before. Anyone know how to fix it? Thanks.
