I have Windows Live2009 and I have not been able to send out emails for a few weeks. Everything was working fine until then. I contact my internet provider Comcast and spent a great deal of time with them on the phone and they suggested the error was with the software and to contact you. Below is the message I received today when trying to send a test email:

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'mo**********@comcast.net'.

Subject 'test'
Server Error: 550
Server Response: 550 5.1.0 Authentication required
Server: 'smtp.comcast.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC78
Protocol: SMTP

Original title: Cannot send email out using Windows live email

Am moving over from an old Windows 7 computer to a brand-new iMac.  Got Office 2011 under the Home Use Program, installed it, setup my email accounts (Comcast and Me.com), then...went to import my rather large PST files from the Windows computer.

Pretty much shocked that they didn't import into the new mailboxes--but, I can live with that, as I work with multiple PST files at work all the time.  However, the messages now have screwed up dates, and don't sort right (many older, some years older, messages now have the date/time of the import, and don't sort right at all (I usually sort from newest to oldest)).

What do I need to do to fix this issue?  Pretty much blows my mind that this just didn't work, since the same vendor wrote both products.

Thanks!

Win 8.1 and Win Live Mail Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3522.0110) SMTP Port 587 stopped sending Comcast mail

My email client stopped working today.

My client has been properly configured as far as port numbers and authentication and has been working properly up until today.  I sent one mail this morning, but subsequent emails failed.  The first failure message said that the Comcast person I was sending mail to was not a Comcast customer.  So I tried a non Comcast email at this point but now it is stuck in the outbox.

I went to my old XP system with Outlook express and sent an email form there to the same Comcast customer - no problem.  I have rechecked that the client accounts on both systems are the same.

I closed Live Mail and tried to go back in, but it was still trying to send mail.  I ended the process with the Task Manager and then the yahoo client mail was sent.

So feeling more confident, I then tried to resend the email with the Comcast  address.  Keep in mind this address works with the config—Win XP, Outlook Express and the exact same client setup— and I am able to send to the email address, but with Win 8.1 and LiveMail, the response I now get is "Not our Customer".    See full error message below with the person's email x'ed out for their privacy.

The message could not be sent. The setting for your outgoing email [SMTP] server might need to be configured. To find the server settings for '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***', please contact your email service provider.

Subject 'Fw: Humarock'
Server Error: 550
Server Response: 550 5.1.1 Not our Customer
Server: 'smtp.comcast.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC79
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 587
Secure(SSL): Yes

Now this message does not seem to make any sense because I should not need the email settings for the person I am sending mail to.  I searched on  "Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC79" which told me to check my email client config settings.  That's it, I've run out of ideas expect maybe a full shut down and restart.

Any assistance appreciated.

I just purchased a new computer with Windows 7 and Live Email and cannot send emails.  I can receive, but cannot send.  I have contacted Comcast and they cannot help.

I receive the error below from 2 email addresses when sending only from Live Mail. Others work fine and I receive email from everyone. I have not been able to figure out why. They work when not sending from Live Mail. Any help would be appreciated.

--------------I305M09060309060P_007813875146640--

I use windows live mail for 3 of my accounts 2 of them are comcast accounts.   i just discovered my main account isnt sending mail to people.  the other email account and hotmail account have no problems sending email .  I even tried to do it on my old windows 7 pc which still has windows live 2011 on it.  could send from other comcast and hotmail but not my main comcast account.  i am able to send from this comcast email using comcast website.  i checked and rechecked my ports on both pc's and it is the same.

I have no idea how long this has been happening for or how to fix it so I am hoping someone here can help me be able to send emails from windows live.

I am able to send from this account from the Comcast.net email client so Comcast says the problem must be with windows live.

thanks

Laurie
