I'm using my outlook.com email acct syncing between my iphone 5 native email app and laptop using win live mail client.

I have found that sync is quite slow with changes like read , forwards, reply etc.

Sometimes even the speed of pushed email to my phone is delayed for some time up to 5 or 10 minutes.

I really want to have an email client rather than a web based email on my laptop for many reasons.

I really like win live mail (windows 7), though it is really due for some upgrading to be up to todays standards.

Is there an updated Live Mail in the works?

I sure hope so!!

My experience with Exchange was with gmail before they dropped exchange, and I used it for years, and it was lightning fast to sync my mail, calendar etc.

I have to admit I was quite surprised that Exchange, being a Microsoft product works extremely slow with Outlook.com email (a Microsoft product) compared to Gmail, when they were using exchange.

I don't understand how this could be as you'd think your own products would work together with speed second to none. (puzzling)

If anyone has some answers , I'd sure appreciate knowing what's going on.

Thanks for your time

Dan

hi all.  I have been using windows live mail for a long while now.  I have 2 hotmail and 1 gmail account active there.  in the last week when I try to reply to an email or send a new mail, I cannot, as I keep getting an error message when i hit"reply" saying: "A problem occured while trying to open this message".  I have delted the email client app and reinstalled it twice. I am just really annoyed now as I use emails fro work constantly.  Can anyone help please ? Thank you

Is it possible to have one company, HUMANA, send me emails that crash my email client, Outlook 2007?  I am using WIN 7. I have no problems with any other emails, sending or receiving. These messages do not show up when I use my browser IE 10 to check my mail online at Gmail.

John

I have a custom domain setup using outlook.com.  My wife and I both have accounts on it.  My account is working great, no problems.  My wife's account periodically can't send emails.  They show up in her sent items on outlook.com, but people won't receive them including emails sent to my email address that is on the same domain (and therefore on outlook.com).

It doesn't seem to matter what email client she uses (web, wp8, w8, ipad, etc), they will all appear to work fine.  Emails will be in the sent items folder, but the recipient will never get it.  There's nothing in my wife's account to be able to differentiate a successfully sent email vs one that failed.  All of the emails that were set are visible in outlook.com in her sent items.

I can't imagine anything that could be changed on her account to address this, it seems like a system issue.  I also can't find any way to report this to Microsoft directly.

Is anyone else experiencing this?
Email Aliases - Is there anyway to manage multiple aliases within a single email client framework.

I tried Windows live which claims to be able to offer this but a) you can't change profile name - ok fair enough but I also got this when I was testing it:

"*** Email address is removed for privacy *** on behalf of" which when you over over comes up with 'Presence unknown' and with that any business credibility goes down the pan hole.

I don't mind proving who I am and confirming my identity for the security concious but why do I have to use my real name all the time?

You use to be able to set up multiple accounts in Gmail really well but now they always quote the primary account profile name which renders the whole point of using an email alias redundant.

Incidentally, I work in a business where I represent multiple clients - I am not doing anything dodgy.

Any help appreciated.

I have had it with this mess, If i don't get this issue fix i"m moving on to another email client.

Recently I was missing some very old important emails from my "Inbox" folder, I thought it was me that accidentally deleted them (which i never really bought) but then i emailed my self a test email and named it "auto delete test" and put the date on the subject, now surely almost a month later that email has been auto moved with a bunch of other to the "trash bin" WHY!!?

I have no other email client using this account that could explained this issue, never been "hacked".

Please help a loyal 10 year user or lose me forever.

Hi everyone,

Outlook.com looks cool but ironically Mac users that purchased and use Outlook2011 as email client don’t stand a chance to have a decent email service.

Here’s the deal: i do have Outlook.com configured as IMAP in order to keep messages in sync on more devices.

Email messages hit my inbox (using Outlook2011 for Mac) with a few minutes delay; according to an Outlook.com employee this happens because their service does support IMAP but does not support IMAP IDLE extension which allow real time fetching of email messages.

Apparently the guys in Redmond were able to offer real time fetching and/or active sync capabilities to all major email clients available on the market but not to MS Outlook for Mac.

I would kindly like to know if there is any workaround on Outlook2011 for Mac to have Outlook.com as IMAP and real time fetching.

And if there is any plan in sight to update Outlook2011 to provide full EAS capability.

Thanks

We have an option to set up an IMAP inbox for receiving voice messages with our email client, but with Outlook 2011, there's a constant barrage of errors because the following folders do not exist.

//Junk E-Mail/
//Deleted Items/
//Sent Items/
//Drafts/

There is only an Inbox folder on the server as it should be.  How can I get Outlook 2011 to stop showing constant errors when it tries to check the status of the folders above? In the IMAP folders under tools, there is no option to unsubscribe these "default" folders. Other email clients (Outlook 2010, 2013) do not exhibit this problem.  Is there a way to configure Outlook 2011 so that it only checks the Inbox?
I have set up a rule to forward work emails to another address so they can be monitored by a work colleague.

It works BUT.....

To save size I get the attachments removed before forwarding. My problem is that the rule removes the attachments from the origin sent email. This is not good as my email client is my buffer record of what I have sent by email. I file contractual email separately but I sometimes I don't have time for that and do it later.

Is there a way of forwarding without attachments but keeping the originals?

Anyones help with be welcome.
