Where can I find the settings for opening Hotmail in my client account 'Windows Mail'
I have looked everywhere on the site and it just doesn't give the information as far as I can see.
Other supplier like Gmail and Sky give this information under settings with all the information including port numbers.
Thank you in advance for your advice.
I don't need a mail client adding "possible junk mail" to the subject of my e-mails, especially when the sender is on my safe sender list. I don't need a nanny, anyway, and prefer to make my own choices regarding spam.
How do I get Windows Live Mail to stop adding that?
Thanks,
Win7
I Have always used an email client software Outlook and outlook Express.
With Windows7, I can no longer use Outlook Express, and was led to believe that Windows Live Mail is the replacement client.
I am just trying to learn or understand the client. What is compact view?
Where is the online help for using storage folders?
We are rolling out a new Exchange server for a big client. The have mixed PC & Mac computers. We are also switching email domains in the process. The solution is to use profile switching to start fresh with the new server, & keep the old emails separate,
but still functional. We can not do fast user switching, or have a separate user account on the computers for this. To our dismay, Outlook 2011 does not really support this. We are all attached to the same domain, & use AD. Not sure what we can do. Having
both accounts active under one account is not going to wok for us. Does anyone know a 3rd party profile switch, or a work around to have 2 separate accounts under Outlook 2011?
Hello
I have some Mac clients connected to Exchange 2010 using office 2011. One of the public folders contains over 15,000 contacts. When the user clicks on that folder, Outlook hangs for at least 5-10 minutes.
The connection between the client and the Exchange server is over a VPN tunnel, and not a very fast one ( 600 Kbps ). I am told that Outlook 2011 for Mac doesn't have cache mode like its Windows version.
Connecting to the PF via Safari is fine.
Any ideas anyone?
Many Thanks
Moshe

Hi there,
I work in IT and in the last 2 weeks, I've seen a really nasty issue/bug with Outlook 2011 for Mac. The only commonality was that both users had very large "Deleted Items" folders. We have an Exchange 2010 environment and the client OS is Mac OS X 10.7.3.
Case #1, 2 weeks ago:
The user uses the "Deleted Items" folder to store email for reference, as they would with any other folder. At some point, the deleted items began duplicating and caused the mailbox size to grow rapidly out of control. Eventually, the user wasn't able to
send or receive mail due to mailbox limits we have in place, and it's at that time the user alerted us to the issue. At this time, the user had 98k items in the "Deleted Items" folder. We ran a deduplication tool on the mailbox, but as soon as the Outlook
2011 client was opened again, the duplication happened again. We tried a few other things, but the duplication would happen again as soon as Outlook 2011 was fired up. We even tried uninstalling/reinstalling Outlook 2011, but that didn't help either. We
ended up nuking the entire mailbox and manually importing items from a .pst.
Case #2, happening now:
The user also uses the "Deleted Items" folder for storage. He filed a helpdesk ticket stating that his Deleted Items folder is spiraling out of control and is duplicating items over and over again. He re-created his Identity Database but the problem kept
happening. He's running the latest version,14.2.2, and installed the update prior to the issue occuring.
My question: What can we do to fix this? Is this a known-issue?
In the mail client for windows live, how do you mass delete the entire contents, or contents prior to a particular date, etc without having to delete every message one a time?
And why doesn't your organization publish sensible detailed instructions on how to use your products? Does it have to do with job security?
From,
I'm about to trash all microsoft c r a p and go with user friendly products and stop supporting your organization with my hard EARNED money.
I just chose Windows Live mail as my default mail client. Prior to today I had no default. I mostly use Yahoo email as my everyday email acct but I do have a @Live.com account. Prior to the change today there were buttons on my email acct were I could
choose a group of emails to delete all at once. After chosing my default today, the email window looks a lot different with a lot more options but those those buttons are gone. How do I get them back? Do I have to view and delete each email
seperately? If so that's crazy!!
PS I clicked every tab to see if I could find them and there was nothing to be found.
And is Hotmail and Live the same thing? I sign in with @Live.com not @Hotmail.com
