When I tried to start Outlook this morning I got the message that there was a problem with the Office database and it needed to be rebuilt.  The database utility says it can't be rebuilt.  I can change identities and Outlook will open but I have no emails, contacts or calendar.  I've tried everything on the MS website but nothing works.

Running 14.2.3. of the entire Office suite.  I've had this update installed for weeks.

Today Outlook crashed, giving me a Daemon error.  I tried a rebuild, and the Daemon crash report just kept coming up every 5 seconds.

Outlook refused to open.

I trashed the Daemon files, under the impression they would be regenerated when I opened Outlook again.  No luck. Get 3 O bounces, then a quit.

Tried to recover the daemon files from Time Machine, but it somehow couldn't find them.  No luck.

Rebuilt database.  Copied to User folder desktop, created new one.  No luck.

Finally trashed Outlook from Applications.  Reinstalled from DVD disc.  Attempted to open.  No luck.

Downoaded all 3 updates from Microsoft.  Tried to install SP1, but it won't allow me, as it says there's no version it applies to.  Totally out of luck.

As you can see, I've tried many of the remedies prescribed in these forums and I'm now just dead in the water.  Please, please, please, someone help me.

Thanks, in advance.

Hi! When I sort the email for from the outlook (14 with SP2) sort the email in old to new. In outlook for PC is different. Anybody know who could sort the email in the same way than a PC. Thanks.
when attempting to create a meeting or appointment in the public calendar, it won't allow me to add a recipient (TO:). I get the error message:

"this meeting invitation cannot be sent because it is in a public folder" in Outlook 2011"
My version is 14.0.0. Mac can't help, RCN can't help.....I can send and receive from my iPad.  Just now my incoming mail quit on my Mac as well.......
We have recently moved move our users to O365 and now we have 26GB mailboxes I would like users to move there mail into the cloud from their machines. If you right click a folder and select "Move folder…" you are not able to select the inbox in the cloud. This would be the preferred option other than dragging them.

Any suggestions?

Kind regards

Paul

Even if I've set a start and end time for an Out Of Office message to be sent, every time I start up Outlook while I'm on vacation, the silly "Out of Office messages are still on.  Do you want to turn them off?" dialog.  If I have Outlook open for some long amount of time (hours, not days), the dialog again pops up.  The problem is, many automated tasks (my spam filter, updating the items badge in the dock, &c.) do not work while the popup dialog is present.

Is there a way to disable this popup dialog "feature"?  I don't want the Out Of Office message off... that's why I set a start and end time!!
Hello,

because I get a lot of emails a day, I need to organise them in Folders ( on my computer ) and this works well. The problem is that when I drag the new emails from the Inbox to a Folder on the left side they dissappear from the server. How can I stop that? I need to have access to emails also from my mobile phone. I tried the same thing whith Thunderbird and works perfectly, so is not a server problem. Any ideeas?
I receive emails on my three different email accounts in Outlook 2011 for Mac but I cannot see the content. I can see the content on my iPhone on not on the Mac.  This just started happening yesterday. I have tried everything to no avail. Any ideas???
