Situation:
iMac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks)
MS Office + Outlook 365
To install this 365 you need to have Office for Mac 2011 in place.
When we download (from MS site) Office for Mac 2011, it installs 2011 except for Outlook. Here is 2008 installed...
Don't understand why.
We also need to sync calendar and contacts with iCloud. Can anyone advise me here...

Hi there,
I have setup a personal domain in Outlook.
I have managed to add it on the iPhone using the "Outlook.com" preset. I can sync Mail, Contacts, Calendars...
How do I add this in Outlook for Mac 2011 or Apple Mail. I'm running 10.9.
I can't find the server settings anywhere.
Thanks,
Tommy
How can it be arranged to sync outlook 2011 on an imac (osx 10.9) with the ipad, with or without iCloud ?
I have owned a MacBook Pro loaded with MS Outlook 2011 for Mac for almost a year now. I use Outlook for my personal Yahoo email but, leave the emails on the server since I also an iPhone and internet sometimes to manage my personal emails. About three
months ago, Outlook began downloading all of my old emails from the Yahoo server again. I thought this might have been a one time deal due to daylight savings time change, etc. but, this has now occurred three times (seems to be at the beginning of a new
month). Any recommendations on how to resolve? Thanks.
Quick rundown:
- Was using latest version of Outlook 2011 on work MacBook Pro - worked flawlessly
- Store 99.9% of my emails in folders within Outlook on my computer
- Was sent a new MacBook Air from my company
- Used Time Machine to migrate from MacBook Pro to Macbook Air
- Successful migration - extremely easy - sent MacBook Pro (wiped) back to company
- 1.5 weeks into using, computer freezes and needs hard restart
- Upon restart, open Outlook and receive:
"Your Office database index is missing and needs to be rebuilt. This is usually caused by restoring an identity with Time Machine. To continue, click Rebuild. After the rebuilding process is complete, close the Database Utility and then reopen the Office
application."
- I've run into this before, so I rebuilt, opened up Outlook, and every one of my emails and folders that isn't on the server (99.9% of my things) are completely gone
- I have tried nearly every solution I can find (new identities, restoring from Time Machine, deleting and reinstalling Office 2011, etc.)

... and I end up back at the SAME missing and rebuild error every time. If it rebuild successfully, and error doesn't come up, that means it will open Outlook, and none of my emails will be there.
Can someone please help me end this madness? All I am looking for is to get back to the emails over the past 4 years that I can no longer access.
Versions:
Outlook 2011 14.3.8
Mac OS X 10.8.5 Mavericks
Genius bar and Microsoft have not been able to resolve, so this is my last resort. I never thought I'd say that I just want to get back to work. Thank you so much for any help in advance!
Best,
Trent
Several users at our office have been experiencing problems for the past couple weeks using outlook 2011 connected to exchange online / office 365. I have tried EVERY fix I could find searching the net. Thank you in advance if you hold the almighty knowledge
and have the power to help.

#1: Account disconnects from exchange online - Client shows "Trying to connect". The error message displayed is "An unknown error occurred in Outlook" Error code: #17886.
-Messages get stuck in the outbox, new emails do not come in.
#2: Sync progress for shared calendars and emails shows "Server busy. Waiting..." Error message displayed is also "As unknown error occurred in Outlook" Error Code: -17886
-Messages also get "stuck" in the outbox. New emails don't come in. Unlike the first error, the account IS STILL connected to exchange service (green circle next to account name).
Screen shot below shows the progress window and several shared calendars trying to sync.
Unsuccessful attempts to fix so far: (I have read pretty much every forum I could find with related information and tried every suggested fix so there are probably a few things left out).
- Closing outlook (sometimes fixes things temporarily, sometimes doesn't)
- Restart computer
- Updating to latest version of OS / Outlook
- Rebuilding identity
- Rebuilding database
- Remove and adding the account again
- Removing and reinstalling Outlook
- Complete reformat and reinstall of OSX 10.9 + outlook
- Checked Exchange Online service health (no reported problems)
There are four users in particular who are experience one of these problems on a weekly or even daily basis. The problems seem to be at random times and I have never been able to connect a pattern that would cause them (i.e. sending huge attachments or
bulk email). Other less frequent error messages that cause problems for these users include "HTTP Error. The Server cannot fulfill the request - Error code: 18500" and "The end of the file was reached".
There are about ten other outlook 2011 users in our office who have not experienced any problems. I'm not sure if that points toward a problem with these accounts or maybe Microsoft servers?
Hi,
I am trying to set up Microsoft Outlook on a new Macbook pro using Maverick. When I try add a new e-mail account and click on "E-mail" account, the screen freezes and I have to force quit outlook. Has anyone seen this bug before?
