Okay, so I've built my database several times now.  When I start Outlook I can work with it for about 10 or 15 seconds before the Microsoft Database Daemon seems to start doing something (I can see CPU usage go up), and then Outlook hangs.  The Database Daemon seems to be running at 70 to 90% CPU usage.

I've read all kinds of articles on this problem, and am not a new user.  However, this is the first time I've had this problem in the years I've been using Entourage/Outlook.  I do not use an Exchange server... I mainly use POP accounts, and have one IMAP account (where other users are using it as well... kind of a communal account).  Not sure exactly what's causing the Database Utility to go into major CPU usage and Outlook to present spinning wheel of death.  Yes, I've created a new identity and that works fine, so obviously there is something wrong with a message, or some such thing, but I can't figure it out.

NOTE: I can kill the Database Daemon, and Outlook becomes responsive again, but then of course I see no messages, etc.

Help on steps to troubleshoot?

pete

I have had several referrals to other topics and questions, still no luck. Is there someone who has experience with this that can help, Please?

so far, this is the best I have received: https://answers.uchicago.edu/page.php?id=19083

The email addresses DO NOT LOAD INTO OUTLOOK FOR SOME REASON!

WHY?

I have tried all file types including TXT and CSV.

Need an expert who has done this. I am thinking this is not a compatible situation for Mac Office.

Thanks
Hey everyone.
I use Microsoft Outlook on my macintosh at home for work.
Whenever I download word or excel files that co-workers send me, the names of the file is modified and includes symbols. An example would be carwork.doc would change to car%work.doc.
It's not a big deal with short file names but some of the file names are really long and it becomes a pain in the butt.
Is there anyway to keep the original file name without it getting modified?
Many thanks!
This is the error message I get when trying to send email from my Office 2011 Outlook account.  Can anyone provide help?  Thanks.
Upon attempting to download newest OS the MAC won't complete because "outlook must close" and it won't, and previous to that it asked for my office product key which i inserted but it won't accept it.  Its been suggested to back up machine and reinstall, but it appears to be the eternal hardware software question... whose fault is it and what is the real fix.

Hi,

On a Windows domain computer running Office 2007 and 2010 we can get outlook program to get mail via http if we go through these steps.  Go to the menu bar..then go to

Tools
Options
Mail Setup
Email Accounts

Choose email account

Click change
More Settings
Connection
Outlook Anywhere

Check  Connect to Microsoft Exchange by using Http

Click on Exchange Proxy Settings

Type in url in the next pagel

Does Mac office allow you to get email via http  and if it does, where do we go to enable it?

Thanks,

Alex

First off, I'm running 14.3.6. I go to Tools->Accounts and choose my account and then I try to change the location of the Deleted Items and Junk email folders but it won't let me choose a location other than the server in the drop-down menu. How can I choose a different location (such as local computer) or even better, eliminate these two folders all together? I'm getting constant error 1025 messages because my IMAP connection is read-only and Outlook keeps trying to create these folders on the server.

Thanks
I feel like in another world and the only one with this problem! :)

Thanks anyone.

I'm making an attempt to move 16 mailboxes and 25 email accounts from Outlook 2013 PC to Outlook 2011 Mac.

On my PC I have some mailboxes (PST) that have several email addresses forwarded into a single box.

For example:

The website is ABC.com. I have *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, etc, etc. All of these email addresses are forwarders to *** Email address is removed for privacy ***.

On my PC Outlook I can create an account for *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. Then I can create multiple "reply" accounts for each address *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, etc. I shut off check email on these accounts and only use them to send email from a specific email address with a signature.

What should noted is that on the PC when you create a new account the question is asked whether you want to create a new PST or use an existing one. If you choose and existing one you are promoted to choose the PST file you want the email delivered to.

The issue

On the Mac Outlook if I create a new account there is no choice to pick if you want to use and existing accounts mailbox or create a new one. Thus if I create an account for help@, sales@, and info@ I am stuck with (3) new mailbox files instead of having all the email combined.

Can anyone explain to me how I can have different reply profiles or reply accounts for one IMAP account? (When I say reply profile, I'm talking about different send from email address, reply to address, and email signature)

Thank you!
