I do not want Windows Live Mail to automatically download email messages, I only want to do this manually when I click the send/receive button.
I have disabled these options under Options > Mail > General Tab - all 3 options under Send / Receive Messages are unchecked.
However, the program still seems to download email messages from all my accounts every 8 hours.
Any ideas why the program is still downloading emails even though these options are unchecked?
Just installed Windows Live Mail on my Windows 7 pc. Everything is working and I put some recurring weekly items on the calendar. However the "Reminder" feature is greyed out when I would click to use it, so I guess I wont get a reminder.
What has to happen for this feature to be usable by me??

I use Windows Live Mail 2011 with Windows 7 (64 Bit) and am considering upgrading to Windows Essentials 2012. I don't want to lose all my email account settings etc and am wondering if Essentials 2012 will instal over the top of 2011 and will carry forward
all account settings and emails etc.. Any advice, please?
I have multiple email addresses including some gmail addresses. Just recently (about the last month) whenever I send email from my default msn address it is sent out with a gmail return address. I cannot find a way to correct this. Even when I delete the gmail account from Windows Live Mail it still appears on sent messages.
When forwarding pictures in the body of recieved mail they change to thumb nails and a red X apears in there place using Windows live mail.
From today, i cannot access my hotmail account through Outlook 2010, 2013 and Windows Live Mail. I get the below sync error in windows live mail, can someone help me resolve this issue. I dont have issues in accessing through explorer

just got a new windows 8 pc.. and like to keep my mail local..
have sbcglobal, gmail,hotmail
got the gmail/hotmail working in either the "mail " tile or windows essential but how do i move my old sbcglobal email to my windows 8 pc , yes we are talking years of email and over gig.
It will not send or receive messages. A dialogue box asks for user name and password but these are already filled in. Even redoing them does not work.
