Received a notice that credit card used to service account out of date.  Went in to account to change card details but had to change telephone number first.   Now cannot sign in to change credit card for 30 days until account reactivated with new number!
I've had a hotmail account for a long time.  In "6 days" I will be required to provide this company with my telephone number to sign in.  I will close my account before I agree to that.  Any way I can "opt out" of the madness and protect my private telephone information?  What's next?  Hotmail will want to know my social security number and blood type?

I am trying to reset a Microsoft Account using the password reset with a code to my phone. The telephone number is correct and it says a code has been sent to my phone, but I haven't received anything. I have tried this on several occasions from different PCs and on different days.

I have also tried the password reset questionnaire. But since this is a fairly new account it hasn't sent or received any emails, doesn't have any contacts and doesn't have a credit card attached to it. Each time the questionnaire is filled out, an automated response is emailed back stating that 'the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account ownership'.

Please help.

How do I change my signature on emails and telephone number, as it has now changed.
I am running Windows 7.
I have tried the instructions shown on the 'Windows Live' help page, but it doesn't work.??!!
Thanks, Graham.
I am in desperate need of support because my email was hacked on  Friday, December 21,  2012 .  I cannot reset my account because I don't remember the telephone number associated with my account.  The email which was compromised is **Remove for privacy**.  Please help me because I am so worried about the access that the hacker has to account.  All of my statements, bills and information comes through that email. Thank you.
hi there,
for the past week i have had trouble signing in to hotmail as it's very intermittent can some one supply me with a telephone number to contact a REAL person ot do they not exist,

After logging into my hotmail account, a questionaire appeared entitled "We need to add some security information to your account", and asked for alternate email, telephone number, secret question answer. Is this legitimate hotmail?   I left it blank, hit "save" and it let me in.
