Hi,

I believe has accessed my email account.  I have been trying to get into the security options to remove the secondary email address and change my security information.  I am prompted to enter a seven digit code.  I have requested an email be sent to the account listed in the security section, yet I never receive this email. I know that that account had also been accessed by someone.  Your customer support helped me get the password reset for the account but the security options is still an issue.  Please advise.

Thank you

Sorry about this.

I'm writing this on behalf of my brother, he suffers with Asperger's Syndrome. He had an old email address that he'd cleared and left to delete, this has been hacked and friends and family in his address book are receiving spam emails. Part of his condition makes him less trusting than the majority of us so most of his security information was made up, some of which he can remember, but not enough to be able to recover the account using the account recovery form. This is causing him some considerable distress, he's unable to sleep and just wants the account deleted.

I really could do with some help with this one as I hate seeing him like this. Temporarily I've told him that Microsoft are looking into it and have frozen the account just so he can get some peace but as soon as someone else receives a spam email he'll know it's not dealt with.

I called Microsoft Customer Service UK, they were reluctant to help but said they would pass my information to the Microsoft Escalation team, it's been two days and no call as yet.

Please help.

I can not get into my hotmail account, the password on my account has been changed and Ive tried all options to reset password as well as the questionaire and its saying its not succesful. I should be able to use my security information but last time i looked i had to wait 30 days for my new secirty update to be updated? can i get it updated sooner
Microsoft has made it virtually impossible to navigate my email account to do attempting to change my security information after I forgot my password.  Once I was able to verify my account, I reset my password and was updating my security info as it was no longer valid.  I attempted to change my birthday and the system decided I was born in 2013 and locked me out of my account until "a parent" logged in, paid $.50 and verified me, a 31 year old man, was able to use my account which I have had for at least 15 years.  Now I am not able to change my birthdate and unable to change my security info, i.e. extra email address and phone number.  Sooooooo........If I do not have permission to change my info, how am I supposed to reset my account?  I have found Microsoft to be extremely unhelpful.  Anyone else have any suggestions?
I have been unable to sign in to my hotmail account - I created a new account so I could access this forum.
The alternate email address I had listed is no longer in use. I filled out the questionaire and they sent me the following email:

After you reset your password, we highly recommend that you update your security information to help keep your account more secure. Adding a phone number, an alternate email address, or a trusted PC will help you get back into your account if you ever lose access to it in the future.

Go to https://account.live.com/proofs/manage to sign into your account and manage your security information.

I was trying to update my security information and mistakenly changed the date of birth. Outlook now thinks it is a minor account - how do I get it changed back to the correct dtae and status?
I need to edit security information (remove a phone number) that I previously entered so i could access my account if i forgot my password.
