I have been syncing my outlook contacts via iTunes. With this latest update, there is no longer an option to sync with Outlook.  Has anyone figured out a way to do this since sync services is not working?
Office 365 is now the economical and probably preferred way forward for SaaS and private home use. Thus far, I have been able to sort out the home computers with Office 365 and have all the apps working without issue (although the PCs have been a nightmare).

So far, so good.

Now the issue. As Mac users, we are all familiar with Sync Services which has been around for a long time, but was never going to last long, and after Lion, I was surprised to still see it in Mountain Lion. I was not surprised when Mavericks dropped it, but obviously Microsoft was. I say this because there is now no way to sync iPads or iPhones without spending a load of cash in the process. This means that Outlook is virtually useless. Contacts, Calendar and To Do lists just don't migrate or copy and unless you have access to an MS Exchange server, this is not going to change.

Don't panic (I thought) we have a BT account and BT has just migrated to Office 365 - just have to change to that email system and off we go!

No. It does not work either.

So here we are, Office 365 installed, machines ready to go, but completely isolated form the mobile world and unable to sync our data using Outlook 2011 or Outlook 2013.

I find it astounding to find out that what is supposed to be a flagship product for MS is so woefully inadequate nearly three years after the product was launched. Sync Services was going to die anyway (as anyone with an Apple Developer's Account would have known) so this is also something that should at least have thrown up a few alarm bells at MS central.

Not wishing to shell out any more money for third party services, how do others go about syncing data or have they just given up?
Hi there

I hope someone can shed some light on this. after several days trawling forums and searches, deleting plist files etcI am still none the wiser.

I have a new iphone on ios7 thats syncing happily with icloud and apple address book and ical on my mac. no problem here at all

the problem comes with outlook 2011 which i love. in previous versions (SP1) i could set up sync services, click sync and hey presto it would swap info with address book and calendar which then in turn would icloud back to the iphone - happy days.

this has now stopped working. I can't tell if this is an error on my part or not but it seems unlikely. Now when i click on the sync button i get a greyed message(no devices syncing) see attached. try as i might i can't get this to revert back to "sync"

Long story short, if this is an inherent problem with the latest service pack, can i simply uninstall and re-install SP1 which is still available or will i now have to stop using outlook 2011 for mac as its been rendered as much use as a 3 legged donkey. I am reluctant to do so as i feel cloud based mail or mac mail services are both hugely lacking when compared to outlook but what choice is there when it can't update to my other devices?

Moreover is the rumoured outlook for mac 2014 going to re-instate the sync capability?? it seems ludicrous to have it working before then un-do it? surely thats a backwards step in anybody's book??

I hope someone can clear this up for me once and for all

Thanks

Hi,

I have a situation with a co-worker where her Calendar is not synchronizing with her iPhone at all, we do not use sync services for anyone neither iTunes to synchronize and she is the only one in the company with that problem. To go further, her Calendar does not sync with anything; she receives invites but, she never gets them and when she does is either off time or the next day and so on. Please advise.

Thx.

Ramon
We now know Mavericks removed sync services allowing the calendar in Outlook to push appointments to iCal which could be sync'd to other Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, etc).  In iTunes 11.1.2 the selection page was also removed forcing us to use iCloud.  Without sync services there has to be a way to sync directly from the calendar in Outlook to iCloud.  On PC's there is a download called the iCloud Control Panel - looks just like the iCloud panel in Systems Preferences on my Mac.  This will allow you to sync an Outlook calendar directly to iCloud.  My question is, on my Mac if I install this iCloud Control Panel will it work the same way as with a PC using Outlook?  If not, there doesn't seem to be a way to sync calendars from Outlook.  In the iCloud panel within SYstems Preferences on my Mac there isn't a selection for which calendar you want to sync to iCloud - I assume this applies on to the iCal.

[BTW with the aid of Apple Care I was able to recover back to Mountain Lion in order to maintain sync'ing as before the Mavericks install.  However, I notice if I install iTunes 11.1.2 even with ML, the selection page disappears thus necessitating using iCloud.  For now I am sticking with iTunes 11.1.1.  At some point I will need to update - hopefully this sync problem will be solved by then.]
Hi,
I just have installed Microsoft Office 2011 on my Mac and configured Outlook with my IMAP account. Now according to some online guidance, I tried to access my Mac contacts from Outlook through Sync Services. But my Sync Services window shows this:

Can anyone please suggest how I can fix this and see all my Mac Address Book, iCal etc. here?
I'm running OS 10.6.8 on my iMac with Outlook;mac 14.3.7,  6.1.3 iOS on my iPad, and iOS 5.1.1 on my iPod.

Wi-Fi syncing between the iMac, iPad, and iPod works fine with Contacts, Calendar, and Mail—and it did work with Notes in the past. But for some reason, Notes will no longer sync, even though Outlook's Sync Services for Notes are turned on and Sync Notes is checked on the iTunes Info tab.

I recently did a complete uninstall and reinstall of Outlook.

Any ideas of what could be causing the hangup would be much appreciated.
My Outlook contacts and calendar don't sync with iCloud.  I've backed up my identity, but when I try to reset my sync services, I have no Library on my Go/Home menu.  What can I do?
Hi,

I have followed the following help article to set up Sync services on Outlook 2011.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2452489

Then connected my iPhone 4S to sync the Outlook calendar with the iPhone calendar but wouldn't sync at all.

Kulanga.
Is Microsoft going to correct the issue they have with being unable to sync Outlook for Mac 2011 with the iPhone on an Apple device? If Sync Services will not work what is Microsoft going to do about it? I am getting very tired of the finger pointing and am getting to the point of having to make a decision - stop using Outlook which will lead to stopping the use of MS office for a multitude of people. We need to be able to sync these iPhones with Outlook but cannot.

We are running the latest Apple OS and iOS as we should be. Will Microsoft correct their problem?
