I need someone's help, I'm unable to uninstall microsoft security essentials!  I'm unable to go under the control panel either.  Everytime I click on uninstall it acts like it's uninstalling but then I get an error code stating that I have to download a filter manager rollup package?????  What is this??  I had a chance to click the site, but it won't let me download it.  How am I to get the microsoft security essentials off my computer if I can't get any farther than that??  I was able to download norton, but now that won't run because of the others, HELP!
Have you gone to Control panel, Programs and Features, clicked on Windows Essentials, clicked Uninstall/Change, Repair..... ?

this does not work.  uninstalled windows live/ does not work after re-install, tried the fix programs/all they want is to pay for their product.  put in fix it/it does not.  tried go back to an earlier date/does not work, even when they say its a virus. proved them wrong as did not have windows live running in laptop as main computer was always running windows live. still have the error code 0x800488eb and no one has a sensible working answer to fix this???????

I have two POP3 accounts.  All emails on account A open ok but 2 emails on account B will not open to display or to show their 'properties'

Following advice elsewhere on MS sites I did the following:

  1. disabled MSSE (just in case)
  2. restarted laptop
  3. removed DSD (Dell System Detect ) using Control Panel
  4. repaired WLM using Control Panel

Restarted pc after each operation but still no joy.

All the emails open normally on the same accounts set up in Thunderbird.

Any ideas, please

We are experiencing a challenge with Windows Live Mail 2012 on a computer running Windows 7. Upon opening the program, we receive unknown error 0x800c013e.

There is a single POP account set up in the client. Settings for this account have been verified to be correct.

We have repaired the Windows Live software from the Control Panel. We have rolled back the update to Internet Explorer 11; when that didn't work we reinstalled the update. We have also removed and reinstalled the software.

None of these actions have yielded any different results, and we're running low on ideas. Any suggestions?

I have a hard time seeing anything in the 'white' areas in mail. I've changed the actual mail areas to a medium blue using control panel which has also changed  alot of other programs backgrounds. But i can't seem to change the white color on the folders pane or panel. I've messed with contrast without sucess. Is there a way to adjust the white to a different color or maybe a darker gray? I've tried the control panel personalization advance buttons and honestly can't figure out what the folders pane is called since everything thats comes up for a change isn't changing the white backgrounds on mail...Anyone else have this issue?  I've changed fonts and bolded things, it's just the white isn't very easy on the eyes.

Windows Live Mail is stuck in Offline Mode. Message says there is an error with Calendar. Have tried repairing thru Control Panel with no luck alto there was a message that said repairs were made. Would have also tried thru Explorer but there was no File menu at top of window. Please Help!!

Hello,

I cannot receive email into my Windows Live Mail programme on the PC.
The messages are on the server, as I can view them online, but they are not coming through to my PC.
I have tried Repairing Windows Live Essentials from the Control Panel, to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Many Thanks,
Amtul

We now know Mavericks removed sync services allowing the calendar in Outlook to push appointments to iCal which could be sync'd to other Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, etc).  In iTunes 11.1.2 the selection page was also removed forcing us to use iCloud.  Without sync services there has to be a way to sync directly from the calendar in Outlook to iCloud.  On PC's there is a download called the iCloud Control Panel - looks just like the iCloud panel in Systems Preferences on my Mac.  This will allow you to sync an Outlook calendar directly to iCloud.  My question is, on my Mac if I install this iCloud Control Panel will it work the same way as with a PC using Outlook?  If not, there doesn't seem to be a way to sync calendars from Outlook.  In the iCloud panel within SYstems Preferences on my Mac there isn't a selection for which calendar you want to sync to iCloud - I assume this applies on to the iCal.

[BTW with the aid of Apple Care I was able to recover back to Mountain Lion in order to maintain sync'ing as before the Mavericks install.  However, I notice if I install iTunes 11.1.2 even with ML, the selection page disappears thus necessitating using iCloud.  For now I am sticking with iTunes 11.1.1.  At some point I will need to update - hopefully this sync problem will be solved by then.]
Since upgrading to Windows 8.1, I can open files from my Skydrive but cannot save to Skydrive.  The message says I do not have Administrator permission though when I look at my account it says I am an Administrator.  By working through Control Panel if I try to change my account type it only allows me to have a Standard account and not administrator.

A similar issue exists with One Note.
