my messenger is set to show when I turn on my computer and when I go to windows live home page it's still fine but if I leave the home page to go to another web site it cuts out and the messenger goes blank and it will say re connecting in ...and then it counts down showing a time and then when it gets to 0:00 it says it's reconnected but I'm not. and then it won't acknowledge that I'm signed in.the only thing that fixes it and it's just temporary is to  restart my computer and then it all starts all over again. I checked the status of all the services and they all say everything is normal. should I try to uninstall it and then reinstall it. I've had major problems with it in the past also and had to pay at tech to fix it,twice now. I even went to the Help and support but couldn't find any answers to trouble shoot because I have Firefox as my browser and it only helps IE. I'm at my wits end, help please!
I loaded the messager 2011 as part of messager live and it does not show anyone as active, even when I know they are.  I have updated my status and changed from 'appear off line' to available.  I've reinstalled several times.  It just isn't working correctly.  HELP!  One of my friends worked with me to test her logging on and off at her laptop and nothing connected.  I send IM's and they are not received.
I love my Dad dearly, but he has a bad habit of frequently trying to start a chat with me. Today I just migrated my Live Messenger to Skype. I'd like to add my Dad to my Skype account, because it would be nice to have a vide chat with him, but is it possible to appear off line to some Skype contacts, but appear online to others?
Using Outlook for Mac 2011 Version 14.2.3

A few facts:
1. It is not my company's policy to require VPN to access email.
2. On my Mac I can only access email when using VPN.
3. My Android phone has no problem receiving email and has become my primary email retrieval method.
4. Whether I am on ethernet in the office (no VPN) or on VPN from home or a hotel/cafe, I am constantly switched into "Not Connected" status.
5. When I am having problems I regularly get prompted for my password (even though I have saved it in my Keychain) and it NEVER works.
6. When I relaunch Outlook and am NOT prompted for my password, it connects and syncs fine.
This point deserves reiterating: When Outlook prompts for a password, it fails to connect 100% of the time and will always fail until relaunched. When Outlook is launched and successfully connects it does so without prompting for a password 100% of the time. This means the algorithm that decides whether or not to prompt for a password is fatally flawed.
7. I have used Charles Proxy[1] to log HTTP traffic and it is a complete mess.
7a. My email ends in @coxin.com, however, while at this company I have had @ajc.com and @cmgdigital.com email addresses and I still receive email that is sent to those addresses in my current account.
7a. I have seen Outlook request https://autodiscover.coxinc.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml and get an XML response that includes: <RedirectAddr>[name-hidden]@ajc.com</RedirectAddr>
7b. There is no autodiscover.ajc.com

When Outlook silently switches to "Not Connected" status I can find no way to get it to attempt to reconnect other than to quit and reopen Outlook. Everyone I know says that their iPhones/iPads and Android phones/tablets are the most reliable way to interact with an Exchange server. This should not be. There should be a lot of work invested in connection error handling, messaging, and logging.

Will my Messenger friends be able to see my new Skype personal status message (PSM)?
I can't seem to get my songs that I'm listening to from iTunes and Windows Media Player to my MSN Messenger Status. Why is that?

I have just installed windows 7 64bit on a new hard drive.  I have installed windows live essential and set up windows live mail with 4 x imap mail accounts .   Apart from the odd  missing flag or watch status  they are all present and OK after the new hardrive.

If I log  in to my windows live account my contacts appear just as they did when i was logged out before the  reinstallation.  But I cannot find out how to save my contacts from my windows live ID into windows live mail so I do not have to be signed in.  I do not always have internet access and I often work on emails when offline and then send and receive when I get home so the need to be sined in is inconvenient and often just not possible, that is why I do not use webmail.  Previously my contacts appeared when I was both signed in and not, obviously having been sysnced with my online account.

I cannot find any way of syncing them back so they appear in windows live mail  if I log out.   I have backed them all up  but last time I did that a year ago I lost all the contact groups and I have over  200 contacts in about 8 different work and personal groups and it took ages to sort them out again.

can anyone help please. If I cannot "save" then to windows live mail can I atleast back them up in a didfernt way so the groups are preserved?

I recently helped a client move his exchange setup from one host to another. I found the easiest way to approach this problem in Mac (as the import/export function is a forced-bulk operation that I would rather not deal with) was simply to install both the old and new exchange account side-by-side and then drag'n'drop the mails that I wanted to move.

This worked splendidly, and afterwards I removed the old account from his profile. This is where the problem occurs, though. In the bottom status row there's an indication of "moving files: 0/x" with x being the number of mails that we had previously moved to that folder. The messages are now located on the new server, but that status message won't go away. Is there any way to manually cancel a move and as such get rid of the message?
I can't find the way to add favorites from my contact list and eliminate those contacts which I no longer want considered favorites but merely want to keep as a contact.
