Wins 7 IE9...today unable to create a 'top level folder' under inbox in Hotmail. I have had no problem previously, have about 6 top level folders. I am signed into windows live and hotmail correctly...all other functions work fine.

I have followd the procedures explicitly, even went to windows/hotmail help to recheck procedures, all correct.

The new folder, even though I click 'make it a top level folder' then hit the save button just above, the folder goes to alphabetical in the large inbox folder collection and since it is a T the folder is waaaaaaay down there but one I need/use frequently and want in top level folder section.....

first I click on 'gear' icon on folders, then either 'add a new folder' or 'manage folders' ...(neither gets the job done ultimately), then if manage folders used, I click new, then type in new folder name, then there is a single line below saying 'make it a top level folder (with a down arrow)...whether I click on make it a top level folder OR hit the down arrow showing the above option plus all folder names and THEN click on make it a top level folder, then hit save above it does not work! the folder goes way down in general folder list under T.

If I hit 'add a new folder' at start after hitting gear icon it takes me directly to type in new folder name box with the 'make it a top level folder with the down arrow, again regardless if I just click on make it a top...etc or first hit down arrow then select make it a top...etc then hit save, same thing! the new folder does not end up in the top level folder section where others previously created reside but way down in the Ts of inbox alphabetical!

What is going on, thanks....Roger

When I start a new email and click on the "To:" to pick recipients there are two names in BOLD letters at end of list that do not show up on my contact list - how do I delete these names since I can only see them when sending emails?  Does this mean I have been hacked:

When I try to open the newly installed Messenger, after I sign in properly, the messenger window freezes and does not work (everything else on the computer works fine, and I can even move the frozen messenger box around, but I can do nothing with it) - not even the menu appears.

After a few minutes, if I click on the box anywhere, an error message pops up saying "This option is not available because this service is unavailable".  What is going on and how do I open this new version of Messenger?

With my previous Window XP I could easily send a Photograph via email:
Highlight the thumbnail in a My Pictures folder > click on it > Send To > [a pane opens: pics altered to JPEG's and a downsized pixel dimension of 640x480 ] . OK.  Then Outlook Express auto-opened with the downsized pic as an attachment (and also within the body of the email) - all ready to be sent.  Easy and convenient.

Now, with my Windows 7, I get as far as,  Send To > [a pane again opens, this time offering choices of downsizing - which is good and better than previously] > OK.   But that is it !    Windows Live Mail window doesn't auto-open, no attachment can be found, and the pic that was downsized and 'Sent To' hasn't been sent anywhere that I an find!

Please help: how do I email a photograph?

It used to be that clicking on “View slide show” opened a slide show in "Windows Live" Photo Viewer . Now when I click on “View slide show” it always only opens in "Windows Photo Viewer". What have I done? One of the few things that I really liked in WLM was the "Windows Live" Photo Viewer, it beat the heck out of "Windows Photo Viewer", but now I can't seem to find it. Have I done something, or has there been a change made by WLM that I am not aware of?
