When using windows photo viewer, (ver Essentials 2012) and then printing on Canon MP160, the color is washed out, but if a photo is scanned using the Canon MP160 and then printed the color is good, also if a photo is copied from photo viewer and inserted into Word and then printed again the color is good. It therefore appears to be an issue with photo viewer, I have also downloaded Essentials 2012 again, and reinstalled programme with the same result of washed out photos Has anyone had a similar issue or can suggest a fix Thanks

Until recently, all photos in 'My Pictures' albums (and I have many) were viewable at a glance; now they are a slew of undiscernable icons.  I quickly found that none of my .jpg photos would open (Photo Viewer) and tried to change the default program for those in "Set Associations" from Photo Viewer to Live Photo Gallery.  It won't do it, nor will it allow me to reset the default, which is shown as Photo Viewer.   It's absurd to think I must go through hundreds of photos and manually rename them .jpeg in order to view them with Live Photo Gallery.  It's even more ridiculous that I must now manually open any untold number of photos to find the ONE I might be looking for.  How can I get this corrected in order to have my photos readily viewable.  At least please tell me how I can, or why I cannot, reset my default to alleviate the current .jpg vs .jpeg problem.  Thank you!

Hello I have the problem with Photo Viewer not working--encountered an error loading WLXPhotoViewer.dll and can't start Error code: 0x80070015
I went through the removal of Win Essentials and did a clean install to no avail.  I have collected the System Information, Event logs, and the DxDiag logs.  I placed all three of them inside of a folder and zipped that folder.  How do I attach the compressed folder to send it to you?
Thank you

Areas of JPG photos that appear white in "file Preview", Powerpoint, & Windows 8.1 "Photos"  show up as a pink-yellow shade, since November 30, 2013, in both Photo Gallery and Photo Viewer.  How can this be fixed? This makes it impossible to correct color with these programs.

Does Microsoft know about the problem?  It appears to have happened at the same time as the C++ (KB2538243), and Update for Windows (KB2902864)

Windows 7 Home Prem 64 Bit.....HP Printer Deskjet 3050

I can print Emails, I can print a web Page...I cannot print any pictures.  When I open a Picture and click Print the Picture opens in Windows Photo Viewer, I select Print.....you see printing 1of1...the green line goes across...I see the Printer Icon display on the Taskbar......I can even open the Printers  Queue...it shows Printing the job....then disappears....but nothing happens....no Print....no activity heard from the Printer.

I tried printing pictures (they are .jpg) from an email in WLM, and from my Folder where I have saved many pictures.....they would not print.

I sent the same pictures I could not Print to a friend, my friend was able to print the Pictures,  he also is running Win7....he also has an HP printer but a different Model.  I have ruled out my Printer....because I can print all other things from email  (Text)...web pages, etc.  It seems to me the problem is with Windows Photo Viewer, that is where the Photos appear after I select Print.......

Seems to me Windows Photo Viewer is part of the OS so it cannot be deleted and re-installed.

As a test, is there another software I could install to open Pictures in and try to print.....if they printed it would confirm Photo Viewer is the cause.......

suggestions?

It used to be that clicking on “View slide show” opened a slide show in "Windows Live" Photo Viewer . Now when I click on “View slide show” it always only opens in "Windows Photo Viewer". What have I done? One of the few things that I really liked in WLM was the "Windows Live" Photo Viewer, it beat the heck out of "Windows Photo Viewer", but now I can't seem to find it. Have I done something, or has there been a change made by WLM that I am not aware of?
