I just installed and activated Office:mac 2011 Home and Student which DOES NOT include Entourage/Outlook. How can I use my previous version of Outlook/Entourage 2004? It still works but now won't let me retrieve my mail. The message I get is that the Authentication Failed. Everything was working fine before I installed the new Office software.
As I move my mouse over the buttons at the top of any screen (mail, calendar, etc) it takes on average 1/2 second for the software to actually update the button state, so, for example if I'm simply moving towards the send/receive button and pass over a few other buttons on the way it can take a long while to actually register the click as all button states seem to have to be drawn before the next one is implemented.

If I wiggle my mouse over a few buttons, back and forth, it just adds them all up and can take 20 or 30 second before the software becomes active again.

It has been like this for over a year now, from Mac Os Leopard up to ML now.  And also through a good few version of Outlook.

I've been using Mail and Calendar, but I really like having mail and cal in one place.

Anyone have this problem too, any solutions?

Hi,

for months now I recognize that Outlook 2011 (14.2.3 in my case) is painfully slow in sending mails. My Mac does meet all criteria. I do not see any speed problems using Activesync or RPC. Just Outlook 2011 and EWS. Mail is not awfully fast but way faster than Outlook 2011 using the same accounts. The problem seems to be quite common and seems to be an Outlook 2011 issue rather than something else according to may posts here and in other forums.

This happens with small mails as well as with large ones. Larger Attachments are extremely problematic.

I had to rebuild my database several times and a few weeks ago even had to delete and recreate my account. The problem persisted. Any idea? How can/shall I debug this?

Kind regards,
   JP
how do I export an email list in excel into outlook.
Just got into this iMac a month ago. On Saturday I did some straightening up.   Now I can't find anything that I have done in Outlook. Two actions may have been the factor:
1.  I moved the folder containing Microsoft User Data which was stowed in a Documents folder to a different folder in Documents
2. I turned on the Outlook menu item Sync Services.
Then I wandered off to have a weekend.
Today I tried to launch Outlook and all of my data - inbox, saved folders full of sent and received messges, thousands of contacts in a score of folders, reminders, you name it, gone!
It told me that the database needed to be rebuilt and that process failed several times. Then it said it worked, but my Accounts and all the data are still MIA.
While a file called Database dated September 7 exists in my Main Identity folder there appears no way to open it.  To be exact, now, under Office 2011 Identity there are two folders, Main Identify (with Data records folder, file called Database dated today with 22.6 MB and file called Database copy dated September 7 with 157.2MB.  This is the one I would like to get at as that is where the information should be. The other folder is called Main Identity [Backed up...Date info being today and that appears completely useless.
Needless to say this situation is extremely frustrating. It had taken a month of rearranging of my historic data from a PC to achieve a highly organized system...which is gone
:(
Help would be gratefully accepted.
I used to use a PC running Windows 7 and Office 2010.  When I save my contacts, for some unknown reason they were all converted into .msg files and now i can't import them into my Office for MAC 2011.  I no longer have access to these contacts on my Windows PC.  Is there anyway to do a mass file extension change on the contacts with a .msg file extension that would enable these contacts to be uploaded into Outlook 2011 for MAC?

Thanks.
Hi Group,

I have been looking around on the forums and see similar items but not quite the same.

When i start, reply or forward a new email. i begin to type a few words and then i can not type anymore. i hear the thump sound that i can not type anymore. The finder seems to want to do something. Then i have to click back into my email i was composing to start typing my email again. sometimes happens 2 to 3 times per email. Any thoughts?

Thanks!
Alfonso
I send out a status report in Outlook (PC) in a table with some shading in the heading rows.  When my colleagues on Macs receive it - the entire table is blue(the shading color I use on the heading rows) - any idea why this would happen?
