Today Outlook suddenly declared a problem, quit, then uninstalled itself! I re-installed from the original Office 2011 disk, updated from the MS download centre and re-opened.
All the current e-mail messages (2011-Present) were correctly recovered. However a second group of messages (2005-2011) which had been transferred from my old Mac to the new iMac in 2011 were not recovered. They are probably stored safely but how do I find them and restore them in Outlook?
I exported all old emails and files from Outlook Mac 2011 into .olm document. Ticked the box do not delete emails however everything is erased and when I go to import the data only folder names come up! Please Help!
I have been using Microsoft Outlook 2011 on my MacBook Pro for a few months now.  I have a handful of email accounts set up on it.  In the beginning, all were POP accounts.  A month or two back, I converted a couple of them along with my Gmail account to IMAP.  The Gmail account is working fine with no errors.  The other two IMAP accounts hosted by GoDaddy work fine about 99% of the time, but I get a handful of -3170 errors at random times daily.  I can't seem to find any sort of pattern or triggers for these errors.  So again, these email addresses work in Outlook almost all the time fine, but a few times daily I'll get these errors, and then it goes back to normal.

So far, the steps I've taken to resolve this are:

I've checked the DNS settings and they're working well.
All of the account information for both email addresses has been checked a number of times and are correct in Outlook.
I've contacted GoDaddy to check the email accounts and servers which checked out OK according to their tech support.
I've contacted Uverse (our ISP) to confirm that our broadband signals are clean which they are.
I've asked Uverse to confirm that the ports required were open and that they weren't closing during the day which they say they are not.
I've replaced the Uverse gateway with a new updated version.
I've deleted both email accounts from Outlook and re-entered the information.
I've uninstalled MS Office 2011 and Re-installed it

After doing all of this, I continue to get this -3170 error a few times daily and it seems like those email accounts are not able to sync, send or receive emails for a few minutes until it comes back up.  During this time, my internet and wifi connection is fine.  In fact, I've set up the same email addresses in Mac Mail and when Outlook has this hiccup, Mac Mail is still connected to these email addresses like normal.

I'm not really sure what my next steps should be to troubleshoot this error, but they're making me crazy.  Below is the setup I'm running.  Thanks in advance for any help.  If I've forgotten any details, feel free to let me know and I'll be glad to provide any other info I can.

before going on vacation, I performed a full TimeMachine backup on my iMac [running OSX 10.7.5] and then shut down the system

after returning from vacation, I upgraded my Office 2011 from ver 14.3.6 to ver 14.3.7, seemingly without problems, i.e. no errors/warnings

after the DB Utility completed [NO problems were reported during the scan main identity, verify, copy and recover phases] I started Outlook and immediately discovered that I had completely lost the prior 16 month's worth of emails

I shut down my iMac, restarted it with Command-R and performed a full restore from my TimeMachine external backup drive, seemingly successful

after I verified that I was running Office ver. 14.3.6, I started Outlook again

as soon as Outlook ran, it immediately announced that the main Identity was out of date and forced execution of the DB Utility, upon completion of which I discovered again that the latest dated email was May 5th
I would like to relocate my "Junk" folder for Outlook:mac 2011 so it is under the "Inbox" folder at the top of the left hand navigation pane so that I can see when I have junk mail.

When I drag the "Junk" folder up under "Inbox" it becomes a sub-folder with a copy of my junk mail and my real "Junk" folder stays at the bottom of the left hand navigation.

Anyway to move it up?

Thanks,

Bryan
My Outlook e-mail layout jumped from three column view to classic.  How to I revert to my preferred three column view?

We have two users that are able to open a shared mailbox but unable to attach it in Outlook 2011.  The users are publishing admins.

I recently reinstalled Microsoft Office 2011 on my new Macbook OS 10.8.5. I did this because I was having issues with Powerpoint. While reinstalling Office didn't solve my Powerpoint issues, it seems to have created issues for Outlook. I restored my Main Identity and recovered my emails just fine, but now I get the spinning ball (freezing) about every 10 seconds, regardless of what I'm doing (typing, sending, reading an email). It's driving me crazy because I can't use my email if every 10 seconds I have to wait 10 seconds to continue typing, clicking on new emails, etc... I've updated all my software. This issue has been going on for 2 days now, so it's not just that Outlook is downloading all my emails again (they should all be there by now). Please help!
