I am using Outlook for Mac 2011, ver 14.4.2 with an exchange server. Last week I exported my data to a 2.7GB olm file. The process went thru without a glitch and the data was subsequently removed from the server. I needed some stuff earlier this week and imported the data back into outlook. However I find that my complete inbox is missing which was a huge shock.

Any suggestions on a solution would be greatly appreciated ? Can i recover this from my mac in any way?

Thanks a lot

I am trying not to freak out....I followed instructions to export, then import the olm file (to add a godaddy email account to the Yahoo account that was functioning just fine on outlook).

The import said it was complete but the emails (Yahoo and Godaddy) are nowhere to be found in outlook or online. help please!!!

Hi Expert!

Recently, I formatted my mac and currently rebuilding all application include office.

I'm using maverik os and using outlook for mac 2011(14.3.9 latest version).

my problem is when I import my .olm file, there was an error with below log.

Exception calendar event encountered but master event not found!

due to above error message, my outlook program couldn't succeed import process and relaunched again.

is there any way that I can solve this issue?

thanks

I've exported my 2013 emails on my IMac to an .olm file. When I try to import this file on to my MacBook Air I immediately get a message saying that I have stopped the import, The fie size is4Gb. I've trying to export it a smaller file (eg by just selecting the inbox) but this doesn't seem to make any difference. I've also created a new identity on the Macbook but this doesn't work either.

This is a real pain as I like to organise my emails by year. It was not a problem with .pst files when my main computer was a PC.

I have a huge collection of emails that are very important to me saved in outlook 2011 and are no more available on the server, they got deleted some how. I need to transfer all these emails from outlook 2011 to apple mail. I used the import/export wizard of outlook 2011 and it created a folder that contains all my emails and sub-folders in .olm format. This folder cannot be imported into apple mail as there is no option to import from outlook 2011 or import .olm files. So I need to convert this folder into .mbox format so that it can be imported to apple mail. So any ideas or solutions on hoe to convert .olm files to .mbox???
I'm getting a little frustrated.

I got a new (to me) Macbook Pro 2012 Retina and was transferring all my data over to it tonight, including loading MS Office 2011 from my disc.

I am exporting from my Mac Air 2010 using MS Outlook 2011, file-export OLM file, about 2.6GB sounds about right.

Copied the entire Documents-Office data subfolders (all check marked including email, address book, etc) and the OLM data to a portable HDD then copied them onto the new Mac, then changed the database to the same one I was using and opened Outlook.  eMail sub-folders and accounts comes up, no data.  No problem, File-Import-OLM and wait 20 minutes while it says it's importing my email.  When it's done... no email.  Just empty folders with the right account names, but none of my emails.

Tried it 3 times, still no luck.  Help???
I exported my email yesterday but outlook 2011 for mac couldn't import that OLM.

OLM Info

size 13.83GB
kine document

when i import, outlook freeze and shut it down

please help me
I exported all old emails and files from Outlook Mac 2011 into .olm document. Ticked the box do not delete emails however everything is erased and when I go to import the data only folder names come up! Please Help!
I export outlook for mac file from my i Mac, it become outlook for mac LOG.olm and size is about 10.24GB

Then I import this LOG.olm file to my outlook for mac of Macbook, but I found .pst file only in my outlook for mac file.
I have always used Outlook for PST.

I back up my *.PST files and carry them with me on a USB.

I recently purchased a Mac Air and Office for Mac 2011.  I am aware that MAC uses a different format (*.olm) for Outlook, and that it is difficult to export OLM to PST without specific third party software.

I have decided therefore to keep my PC as the primary user of Outlook and to have my PST files converted to Outlook for MAC so that they are available on my MAC (mainly for reference).  If I do choose to send an email, add a contact or insert a calendar entry from the MAC, I send it by email to a second email address so it can be updated on my primary PC later on.

Here is the question - apologies for the long pre-amble...

I want to keep updating the MAC with my new PST file, but I understand that it is not as simple as deleting the OLM file and re-importing the PST file, because the OLM file does not appear to exits on the MAC.  Instead apparently everything is held in something called "Identities."

Can I please ask an expert whether there js a way that I might accomplish the above task?

Do I delete "Identities" and then re-import the PST?  Do I have to delete all of the information within Outlook and re-import (as that would be very cumbersome).

Why on earth MS could not make their own software cross-platform, I do not know.  They appear to have made the interface between Outlook 365 and Outlook.com even more complicated.

I very much appreciate those of you willing to give up your time and share your expertise.
