I've been using Office for Mac 2011 Home & Student for quite a while.  I have several clients who provide an email address for me and previously I've imported them all into Mail on my Mac.  Although I have more than one client who utilizes Microsoft Exchange for their email, lately, I'm having problems with consistently receiving mail from one client.  So, I decided to buy the "Home & Business" version in order to utilize Outlook…hoping that will solve the problem (I know Microsoft Exchange doesn't support mobile also, so I figured…why not…)

Unfortunately, I think my Mac is defaulting to the "Home & Student" version…because although an Outlook "O" appears in the dock, it won't open at all.

Suggestions?  Thanks so much -

I'm now migrating from Entourage 2008 to Outlook for Mac 2011.  I frequently use scripts on Entourage to accomplish the following:

1) Change the name of the sender of a message I've received.  I use this, for example, if the sender of the mail shows their name in a non-Roman alphabet (Chinese, etc) and I want their sender name to appear in my inbox in Roman letters. Or if I know the person by their nickname rather than their formal name.  In both cases I want their sender name in my Outlook inbox to match the name I know them by.

2) Change date and time sent of a received mail.  Occasionally I use this script in Entourage if the clock on the sender's computer is set incorrectly and the message therefore appears in the wrong place in my inbox.

3) Delay sending time.  This script allows me to set the sending date and time of a mail to, say, the end of the week, or even sometime next year.

I've searched everywhere online and haven't found these three scripts for Outlook yet.  Can anyone help me find them?  Or are there other non-script, time-efficient workabout solutions?

Thank you for any advice you can provide!

The app is already working, and the buttons are available, but when I try to add my gmail account it doesn't let me and it freezes making me close the app.

I hope to synch my Mac Outlook calendar with Outlook.com - and then with my Android.

Anyone know how to make this happen?

Hi:

I have Outlook for Mac 2011 on my MacBook Pro. It was registered to me when I installed it. A while back I noticed that when I sent an email it said it was sent from someone called Dean Carrier and from that point all my emails now say they are from Dean Carrier rather than me.  I don't know anyone by that name but as I tried to investigate this I saw that my Outlook now appears to be registered to Dean Carrier. I cannot figure out how to correct this. There seems to be no way to change the name the product is registered to. Anyone I email receives an email from Dean Carrier, not me. Help!

Under Mac OS 10.68 using Outlook 2011 the database is corrupt.   Cannot delete even one mail from the deleted items folder.  The database utility opens and demands a rebuild.  But the rebuilt doesn't help.   When EXPORTING mail to the desktop, the export stops 1/3 of the way and demands a rebuild or the program closes.  The program works fine if one leaves the more than 3,000 deleted items in the folder.  The database has been rebuilt multiple times without success.  Nothing can be deleted from the mail trash folder.

Stellar Phoenix has an OLM recovery program  http://www.stellarinfo.com/email-repair/outlook-mac-repair.php, but their tech support said that their program only works on an exported file, so Stellar cannot be used.  Another support rep said the datafile is an OLM file and the program is worth trying.

1.  Is the mail database file  (222 MB) an OLM file ?

2.  Has anyone used Stellar Phoenix on their data file and it brought success ?

3.  It seems the SP2 update to MSO 2011 is the cause of this lethal corruption.  Has anyone tried reinstalling and using MSO 2011 and not updating the program, and if so was that met with success.

4.  Will upgrading the OS 10.68 to 10-.7, 10.8, or 10.9 improve the chances of the database utility fixing this corruption ?

5.  Is the ONLY cure to make a new database and start fresh ?  This means that one will have to reassign the default database when wanting to see all the old e-mail.

6.  Is there an application which will export all the e-mail to a single readable and searchable document, thereby one can keep both Outlook and the old mail open and visible.

Thank you.

I am posting this as a non-Exchange Outlook user, as it seems my issue common on Exchange accounts but the fix isn't conducive to single user.

Upon installing Maverick, Outlook repeatedly retrieves old/duplicate messages. I have created a new identity and still occurs. Help...my Inbox has 11,000 messages in it that are from 1995 - on (that were previously deleted). It is not a Yahoo problem. Ridiculous.
I am running Outlook 2011, and recently when I go to sync my mail, it pulls in ALL messages every time. How do I reset it to only sync new messages? It even pulled in deleted messages. Thanks!
