With my previous Window XP I could easily send a Photograph via email:
Highlight the thumbnail in a My Pictures folder > click on it > Send To > [a pane opens: pics altered to JPEG's and a downsized pixel dimension of 640x480 ] . OK.  Then Outlook Express auto-opened with the downsized pic as an attachment (and also within the body of the email) - all ready to be sent.  Easy and convenient.

Now, with my Windows 7, I get as far as,  Send To > [a pane again opens, this time offering choices of downsizing - which is good and better than previously] > OK.   But that is it !    Windows Live Mail window doesn't auto-open, no attachment can be found, and the pic that was downsized and 'Sent To' hasn't been sent anywhere that I an find!

Please help: how do I email a photograph?

I exported the contacts from Windows Live Mail to Outlook 2010, but the mailing list in Window Live Mail disappeared when I open Outlook. I have thousands of emails in different lists and would be very difficult to re-categorize them. Please help!

When I tried to delete e-mail from my Junk e-mail folder in Window Live Mail 2011, I got the message "An unknown error has occurred". I deleted one message via my ISP (Shaw.ca) on-line webmail program but this message was still appearing in my on-line Junk E-mail folder in Windows Live Mail even after I re-started Windows Live Mail.

I checked \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Shaw (PaulA 758\Junk E-mail folder and it was empty.

I tried repairing Windows Live Mail via Control Panel\Programs and Features\Windows Live Essentials 2011\Repair but the message headings were still in the Windows Live folder.

I tried going off-line to delete the messages but I still got the "An unknown error has occurred" message.

I suspected that the actual messages may have been deleted from the \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Shaw (PaulA 758\Junk E-mail folder during disk clean-up.

I then:

  • Backed up my e-mail
  • Reinstalled Windows Live Essentials
  • Restored the e-mail backup

The database is now corrupt:

  • The folder tree is not the same as prior to the backup/restore
  • In some of the sub-folders, the To, From and Subject appear to be correct in WLM but clicking on on each of the e-mails in this folder opens the same message

I am using Windows 7. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I keep getting an error when opening Windows Live Mail. I am running version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308) on Windows 7.

The title of the dialogue box which appears says "Assertion Failed: Abort=Quit, Retry=Debug, Ignore=Continue".  The dialogue box has alot of information which I don't realy want to trnaspose in this post but starts with "Failed to initialize Shared Canvas"System.IO.File not found exception:Could not load file or assembly "WindowsLive.Writer.Localisation, version 15.4.3508.1109, Culture=neutral ... and so on.

I have taked a screen shot so could e mail the full message if required.

Please let me know if need anything else in order to diagnose the problem and advise what can be done to fix it.

I am using Windows Live Mail and I believe that I have tried to send too many photo attachements which has jammed up my outgoing que and is resulting in my current inability to send additional e-mails.  (I seem to have 8 backed up now, however I am able to receive e-mails).  Is there an easy way to clear the offending e-mail with the exessive photo attachments?
11. May 2012 · Comments Off on Quick views stopped working after upgrade to Windows Live Mail 2011 — How to fix? · Categories: Uncategorized · Tags: , , , , , , ,

Hello,

Earlier today I was prompted to upgrade my Windows Live installation and I accepted the upgrade offer.

Ever since that upgrade was installed, my Windows Live Mail 2011 "Quick Views" no longer works.

How do I get "Quick Views" to work again?  For example, when a new email arrives in one of my email accounts, I would not like to go searching for it, but find it in my "Quick Views" > "Unread email"

Thank you for helping me resolve this issue, and I hope that the older version is still available if there is no help or no solution is available.
