My OS is Windows 7 Home premium 7x64 IE9. I installed Windows Live Essentials 2011. I had a problem with setting up an account in Windows Live Mail. So I went to Programs in Action Center and clicked on Windows Live Essentials to uninstall. It asked me if I wanted to uninstall the whole program or just a particular program. I clicked on Windows Live Mail and it was deleted but the other programs remained.

I would like to re-install this feature that came with Windows Live Essentials package download. Do I have to uninstall the whole program or can I retrieve the deleted Windows Live Mail?? I've searched for a solution but am referred to Hotmail. Help, please

I lost ms maill 2011 recently. When I open it up it has a box that says windows live mail could not be started. It may not be installed correctly. Make sure disk is not full or out of memory. (Ox80041161) It just stopped after all these windows live essentials updates. How do I get it to work again?
This is a new problem Some e-mail messages that I send in Windows Live Mail are having the content of the message deleted when I hit "send". So the receiver gets a blank message. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I have a XP computer that I ran Outlook Express on for a number of years then upgraded to Window Live and Windows Live Mail, all without any problems. I recently bought a new computer and wanted to extract the WLM folders from the XP machine and transplant them on the new Windows 7 machine or at least import them to the new machine.
I can only find the old Outlook Express folders that contain two year only mail. When I look in WLM, tools, option, advanced, maintenance, store Folder, on the XP machine, it gives me a location. When I go to that location it does not exist. How can the program work? Better still where are the folders?
In folder view all the necessary boxes are unchecked giving me full view access to files and folders.
I need to resolve this.

I'm using Windows Vista with Windows Live Mail for desktop, Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308).

I noticed yesterday that all the storage folders (I had about 10 or 15) I created have disappeared.  When I delved deeper I saw that they have all been moved into folders buried under the "Recovered Items" folder.   Two folders appeared to have been created on 20th May this year (the folders have the date as the name) and all my missing folders are under here (with a few levels of hierarchy in between)

Why has this happened and how do I recover all the lost folders and emails?

I know I could re-create the folders manually and manually copy all the messages across, but this will take a while and should NOT be necessary.

Is there a quick (or slightly quicker) fix?

I read somewhere that I should compact the messages (go to Options/Mail/Advanced/Maintenance/ Compact messages after every 1 (not the default of 100) runs.   I did that but it made no difference.

Can someone help please?  Thanks.

i want to use windows live mail again and am unable to do so.  The update for windows live essentials 2011 does not complete.  You can not remove it from computer.  It has stopped windows live mail from working as well as the other programs, although  I do not use those programs, i would be happy with just the mail program back.

I received the Windows Live Mail Error 0x800CCC0F following a restart after my Win7 machine shut down unexpectedly. I have numerous email accounts on Windows Live Mail which I monitor, including Gmail IMAP, Hotmail and POP. All accounts were affected. After I had logged in to Windows Live Messenger, the Hotmail account in Windows Live Mail was again working. All the other accounts gave this error (with different text according to each account):-

Unable to send or receive messages for the xxxxx Gmail account. Header download for the xxxxxxx folder did not complete.

Server Response: Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system.
Server: 'imap.gmail.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: IMAP
Port: 993
Secure(SSL): Yes

I read through all the forums for Error 0x800CCC0F and did not find a definitive answer, but I seem to have managed to solve the problem anyway. I did a repair of Windows Live Essentials through Programs and Features in control Panel, but the same issue remained. I then went through the Account Property settings of one of the affected accounts to check the information for servers and ports and authentication method etc. I noticed under the Servers tab for Incoming Mail Server, that the Password field was blank, even though the Remember password box was checked and the Username was intact. After inserting my password in the blank field and saving, the send and receive for that account worked correctly and the problem was solved. The Password field in each of the other accounts was also blank and the Remember password box was checked in each case. After going through each of the accounts and inserting the password, everything worked again.

It would appear that the unexpected shutdown had caused a corruption of the password store, which resulted in all the blank password fields. It is unfortunate that the error message was misleading and had indicated it was due to non-network errors or lack of memory. It seems as though the client was sending a blank password along with the username during authentication which had caused the error. One would have thought that sending a blank password would have resulted in a more specific authentication error.

I seem to recall with earlier clients, a blank password would result in a username and password input popup. In my opinion, in case the password field is blank, the Remember password box should be automatically cleared which would then invoke the password input popup.

Windows Live Mail will not open. When I checked it appears the program is no longer there.

I tried to download the program, and was unable to do so. Did get an error message 0X80040609.

Googled for a fix, and was instructed to do an uninstall, then try to install it again.

When I tried to do an uninstall nothing seemed to happen, then I got a message that a program was currently running and the install had not been completed, and I a should wait and try again after the current program finishes running. That never happened after a very long time.

When I rebooted and tried again, same problem. Tried a few more times, same problem.

Then I tried to run the Windows Live Essentials repair program (instead of an uninstall), but the list of versions that could be repaired did not include the Windows 7 version?

Next I tried the suggestion to downloaded wlarp.exe, but when I attempted to run it nothing would happen. When I did a little more checking it seemed that it did not support Windows 7 either?

Can you please help me resolve this problem so that I can try to get my Windows Live Mail account running again? I am running Windows 7 (64bit) with Service Pack 1, and Moxilla Firefox as my browser.  I have 3.75 GB open space on my drive. The Windows Live Mail program was running OK until it seems to have been uninstalled?

Thanks!

Ron

In my windows live mail inbox I see my new e mails.  Currently, if i single click on an email, it opens.  I don't want it to do that.  I want to DOUBLE CLICK on an email  to  open it.  That gives me the option to delete an email (WITH A SINGLE CLICK), before opening it, just in case I get an email from an unknown source and I want to delete it before opening.  How do I change the setting?  Thank you.
I want to make a csv  file to export my email contacts to webmail but cannot see the option to do this in my windows live mail 2011. I have looked at mail options to no avail, clicked on contacts in the list at the bottom of the page etc.  I never have had this problem before.  I would appreciate help with this.  Thanks
