There seems to be a fault with the way Outlook handles moving files. This has been around for about a week now. when I try to move a file it leaves a copy in the Inbox on the server. This wasn't the case and I think it might be as a result of an upgrade. My iPad and iPhoe do not have the same problem
About two years ago I lost access to my Hotmail. I forgot my password and had no way of recovering my account. Apathy set in  I was at a point in my life where email didn't really matter to me. A few months later to losing my account i made a gmail account which i have been actively using. Yesterday i thought it would be cool to see some of my old emails. So i recovered my account. To my surprise thier were none of my old emails in my inbox. Or any of the ones i would have received after loosing access to my account.  Did Hotmail wipe them their servers forever or is there anyway to recover them?

Thanks, M.
I just logged in for the first time in a few months and all of my old emails and contacts have been deleted.  I was keeping the account because there was no easy way to download all of those emails, many of which had significant value/importance to me.  I've had this account since 1999, so the emails and contacts go back a long way.  Often times, when I log in I'll see emails from old friends that don't have my current use email account.

I tried the recovery method detailed in the help pages, but that didn't recover anything.

I would like to get my account recovered with my old emails and contacts, please.

How can I track when and if the emails I send are being read?
Using Outlook for Mac 2011 Version 14.2.3

A few facts:
1. It is not my company's policy to require VPN to access email.
2. On my Mac I can only access email when using VPN.
3. My Android phone has no problem receiving email and has become my primary email retrieval method.
4. Whether I am on ethernet in the office (no VPN) or on VPN from home or a hotel/cafe, I am constantly switched into "Not Connected" status.
5. When I am having problems I regularly get prompted for my password (even though I have saved it in my Keychain) and it NEVER works.
6. When I relaunch Outlook and am NOT prompted for my password, it connects and syncs fine.
This point deserves reiterating: When Outlook prompts for a password, it fails to connect 100% of the time and will always fail until relaunched. When Outlook is launched and successfully connects it does so without prompting for a password 100% of the time. This means the algorithm that decides whether or not to prompt for a password is fatally flawed.
7. I have used Charles Proxy[1] to log HTTP traffic and it is a complete mess.
7a. My email ends in @coxin.com, however, while at this company I have had @ajc.com and @cmgdigital.com email addresses and I still receive email that is sent to those addresses in my current account.
7a. I have seen Outlook request https://autodiscover.coxinc.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml and get an XML response that includes: <RedirectAddr>[name-hidden]@ajc.com</RedirectAddr>
7b. There is no autodiscover.ajc.com

When Outlook silently switches to "Not Connected" status I can find no way to get it to attempt to reconnect other than to quit and reopen Outlook. Everyone I know says that their iPhones/iPads and Android phones/tablets are the most reliable way to interact with an Exchange server. This should not be. There should be a lot of work invested in connection error handling, messaging, and logging.

I can't seem to find a button for address book. I wish to up-date an address and I can't seem to find the way to do this.
Please help. Thank you.

1. i needed a new account address for" family mails" when i changed ISP as the  one authorised by that account was discontinued.

2. As you used to be able to sign in with several different hotmail as required i made a new address for "family use" in Hotmail

3 .Without warning the old hotmail address i have used for years was immediately discontinued .  as i used that hotmail for  for logging on accounts for ipad, kindle etc. that was quite brutal and annoying. why did Hotmail do this.I now have to go to the trouble of altering all my current accounts.

4. used to rate Hotmail quite highly-- not so impressed now i can tell you

5. is there any way of getting my old Hotmail address back again

I cleaned out my sent e-mail folder a while ago and found out just now that there was a piece of e-mail with information I need. Is there any way to recover this?
