Hi,

Hotmail provides the ability to recover emails that have been accidently deleted from your mailbox. Below are some of the highlights of the email recovery feature:

* The Deleted folder has a link to recover messages that were deleted from your mailbox.
* When you recover deleted emails, they appear in the Deleted folder. Hotmail tries to recover as much as possible. If you don't see the deleted messages that you wanted to be restored it means that they are permanently lost.
* We recommend that you move important emails back to your inbox or personal folders as soon as possible because the Deleted folder gets cleaned out periodically.
* When messages are emptied from the Deleted folder, Hotmail will keep these deleted messages for a few days before they are permanently deleted. You can opt-out of the feature if you'd like. When you’ve opted-out, you won’t see the recovery message and link in the Deleted folder.

Here are the steps to be followed:

1. Go to your mailbox and locate the deleted folder.

2. Below the page, you'll see a link saying "recover deleted messages"
3. Click the link and wait for the results.

Take note: This feature doesn't guarantee that all of your lost emails will be recovered.

Thanks!

my e-mail is in a foreign language I can not read it
I just logged in for the first time in a few months and all of my old emails and contacts have been deleted.  I was keeping the account because there was no easy way to download all of those emails, many of which had significant value/importance to me.  I've had this account since 1999, so the emails and contacts go back a long way.  Often times, when I log in I'll see emails from old friends that don't have my current use email account.

I tried the recovery method detailed in the help pages, but that didn't recover anything.

I would like to get my account recovered with my old emails and contacts, please.

My wife's Win 7 machine is reporting an imminent HD failure and a warning to back up important files. She is primarily interested in saving her e-mail files, primarily incoming messages. How do I do this? I plan to replace her HD and install a new one, and then use the recovery discs for her machine. Bud how do I first save her e-mail to an external file?

Many thanks.

I have been sick for quite some time and have not gone into my email account, which is attached to my Ebay account and my Etsy account.  I am trying to get back on my feet, and DESPERATE to get all of my business emails (years of) back!  HELP!  I did not realize that they would be deleted from inactivity...I will take precautions from  now on, but I need help with the past ones.

P.S. I cannot retreive them by going to the deleted folder and asking for recovery.  Help!!

For the third time in a year and a half I was unable to open Outlook getting a message that my identity needed to be rebuilt.
The rebuild failed and I had to piece together various methods gleaned from these forums and elsewhere on the net to get a semblance of recovery.
My question is: What causes this Identity corruption? What can I do to avoid it?
I have seen many work arounds to fix but nothing to indicate a cause.
Thanks
First, let me state that I am very familiar with Outlook for PC's and rather proficient in the Mac OS.  I have a client that had their hard drive in their Mac crash (no backup through time machine).  A new hard drive was installed and the OS loaded.  A hard drive recovery company was able to recover all of the data on the crashed hard drive, and I now have the Database files that Outlook creates (there is more than one, but if I can get one restored, then I can do the rest.)

If this were a windows computer, I know I can just put the PST file into the Accounts, and have access to all of the old emails.  It just doesn't seem to be the same way with a mac.  I need to know how to do this.  Any help would be awesome!
About two weeks I got a message when trying to log into my other hotmail account saying they think someone is trying to access my account so I had to verify my details. I submitted the information then received an email to my back up account (gmail) 10 days ago (18 August) saying that my Microsoft Account recovery request had been received and that I should get an email between 5-7 days with a link to reset it but to date I have received nothing! Please help, I am job hunting and have given my other hotmail address for everything so this is making my life extremely difficult. Regards, Jonata.
