How do I create a Panorama stitching 2 or 3 photos together in Windows Essentials 2012 Photo Gallery, using Windows 8.  It was quite simple in Windows Live Photo Gallery using Windows 7 , but I don't see where to create a Panorama in Photo Gallery 2012.

Thanks for any help.

I send photos from my HTC One as email attachment.  When I try to open them I get the message that photo gallery does not support or that I need to update.  These photos are jpeg.  I cannot save to my computer or try to open in paint without getting the message that the file may be damaged or corrupted.

Any ideas?

I have used photo gallery over 20 years.  I got a new computer with Win 8.1 and 2012 Windows essentials.  I am about ready to switch to Apple after having a PC for over 25 years.  I want to see folders in photo gallery like in the 2011 version.  I added one folder from my desktop to photo gallery and now I want to delete the whole folder at once not the 4 subfolders individually.

Hello, I am having the same problem that a previous gentleman was having named Jim Shepard posted on your site on 07/27/12. When I email or send tagged photos to a CD, they always come out without the tags on them. I did exactly what your post suggested to do, by clicking file, options, publish, and making the appropiate setting, but to no avail. I use Avast as my security program and Windows 7 as my OS. The Photo Gallery program is of no use to me if I can't email or send tagged photos to other media. I notice that there are others out there from similar blogs who are having the same problem. Any suggestions or guidance you may provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Tom

I'm aware that the problem has been discussed before. I'm posting because the prescribed fixes don't work.

Symptoms: When the Photo Gallery Screen Saver is selected, the screen goes black and in addition the computer doesn't return to normal upon key press/mouse movement. (I have to start task manager and kill the task).

Suggested solutions:

1. Make sure Win 7 is in balanced power mode. I've verified my computer is

2. Make sure there are no bad shortcuts in the destination directories. I've connected another computer to the same source photo directory (it is a network drive) and it works fine, so it can't be that either.

I'd love to make this work as the thought of having screen savers not show certain tags and only high-star photos is very appealing but I'm at a loss for next steps now.

Thanks for your help!

Oliver

I've many photos where, usually for lighting, angle, clothing or obstacle blocking reasons, Microsoft Photo Gallery does not detect a face that I wish detected. When I identify where a face is in the photo I may not recall who it is exactly at that moment. However I do wish it identified as a face for me and/or Photo Gallery to name in the future and to, presumably, help Photo Gallery in its decision making. I do appreciate that deliberate abuse of this would damage Photo Gallery's abilities but assuredly Photo Gallery would differentiate between faces identified by itself and those designated so by (possibly anarchistic) users. I confess myself to facially identifying (for example) statues, cartoon characters and dogs in the past but, ideally, Photo Gallery should be progressing to take this all on board.

Hi

I run Windows 8.1

I have a number of photos that I sort into folders on my external hard drive. For months I have been opening the photos in Photo Gallery to crop them and have never had a problem.

However, when I tried to do this yesterday, this is what happened ...

I opened the relevant folder that contained my photos from my external drive and this displayed all the photos in that folder. I clicked on the first photo, which opened in Photo Gallery. I then clicked on 'Edit, organise or share' from the toolbar (this is a process I have done many times). However, although this displays lots of photos in Photo Gallery that I can edit, it does not include the ones in the folder that I just opened - they are nowhere to be seen. I have not hidden the side navigation because it does display lots of photo folders. I have also run a repair on Windows Essentials but it has made no difference.

As far as I can tell I have done differently to what I have dozens of times in the past without any problems.

PLEASE HELP!!!

I was having so much trouble with Photo Gallery that I thought I would try uninstalling it and re-installing it.  I used to have WIndows Live 2011, with whatever updates it had over the years. Now I have nothing, and it won't let me install Windows Essentials at all. the error code I get is not one that is listed,so I don't know what the deal is. Any ideas?

I am trying to link my email address to Photo Gallery. If I select a photo and click on the email symbol a notification firstly asks about the required size, then when I click attach it notifies me that my email is not associated.

I have followed the instruction relating to making the association between the two (using the default programs section of control panel) but when the lists come up I have no idea what I should be clicking on and there is nothing to assist me!

This is certainly not user friendly! I've asked a colleague at work (who is a bit of a computer geek) and even he couldn't do it.

Any advice would b appreciated - in very plain and simple steps please!

Trying to use Photo Gallery but Toolbar, Title bar, Menu bar and photos are all fuzzy. The rest of the applications on the computer are perfectly sharp. Is there any way this problem can be resolved? This used to work perfectly when I had Vista
