I have been upgraded to Outlook. On my Hotmail page I clicked the wrong place by mistake. What is the difference between Hotmail and Outlook?

A friend of mine wanted to use an Exchange account additionally to his normal profile (POP3 email, calendar etc.) in Outlook 2011.
He said he just added and configured the profile. When he re-openend Outlook 2011 the old profile and all data was lost.
I searched the harddisk, but there's only the "fresh" profile data files of the Main Identity in the Documents/Microsoft User Data folder.
What did happen here? Is there a chance he can recover the data?
When I was with Microsoft entourage I sent email and I know automaticaly when the receiver open and read my email. Since I used Outlook I didn't find how to do that? someone could help?
Hi, i would like to know the procedure in case i want to delete/erase completely my Outlook identity to start fresh and reconfigure all email accounts.

thing i know, outlook express is on my screen along with my hotmail life....this putter is on xp-2000 hm addi. i like my hotmail and i,m not a big fan of outlook express any help ???, thx ...

"parse error; request too long" coming up constantly! It bogs down my entire system. It all started with the last update. Is anyone else experiencing this and is there is a fix? I have the standard Office 2011 running on Mac OS X 10.6.8 with aol accounts.

I made folder inside my INBOX for ease of putting emails there. I put some recent received and send emails there and they have all disappeared. I guess in retrospect it was dumb of me to put a folder inside my INBOX. I have now removed that folder and put it in the regular place where folders go, but those emails are gone. How do I find those emails? .
