A friend of mine wanted to use an Exchange account additionally to his normal profile (POP3 email, calendar etc.) in Outlook 2011.

He said he just added and configured the profile. When he re-openend Outlook 2011 the old profile and all data was lost.

I searched the harddisk, but there's only the "fresh" profile data files of the Main Identity in the Documents/Microsoft User Data folder.

What did happen here? Is there a chance he can recover the data?

last 2 days, she has been trying to get on to Microsoft Messenger-- not allowed to sign in;

error: the server is not available or there is no internet connection

I'm running the newest Microsoft Office for Mac, and my Outlook constantly says that an error occurred and must quit.  I can't send anything from Outlook.  How do I tackle this with a Mac OS 10.6.8?

About a month ago we upgraded one of our Macs to 10.8 (from 10.6). The upgrade went fine, but now Outlook Mac 2011 does not work correctly. The only known issue we are having is the Search function not working correctly. Whether it is searching for a Name, Subject, Date… nothing shows up – only “no results”

I’ve searched forums, how-to sites, Microsoft and Apples websites looking for answers and have not found a solution. I’ve installed any updates that are related to Mac Office 2011. None of which have resolved the issue.

So far I’ve tried Rebuilding the Outlook Profile (multiple times), Re-indexing the folders/volumes in Spotlight (multiple times as well). I made sure Mail Messages is checked in Spotlight. After re-indexing is complete, the Mac drags a lot. It drags when you try to do anything within Outlook. Whether it is clicking on a new email, printing, clicking on a subfolder, anything. It’s painful for the user to even use Outlook. So they use their mobile phone at times to read email and/or Outlook Web App (OWA).

Has anyone found a solution? (Besides reimaging/rebuilding the Mac)

Thanks in advance for any help/comments.

I received an email from "Microsoft" that automatically went into my Junk folder stating "This email is from Windows Live Customer Care. We are sending it to all account owners for account upgrade. We are experiencing network congestion due to anonymous registration of email accounts. To prevent this, we are shutting down unconfirmed accounts and your account is scheduled to be deactivated. " Then it asks for my email info and password.

Is this a scam?

I use this account for business so I CAN NOT have it deactivated.

We have a pdf posted online that has a Web Page Title that includes Microsoft Word - and ends with .doc when viewed on a mobile device. I understand that this is part of the meta data, and cannot find a place to modify this. Firstly it is annoying that the .doc suffix would be included on a .pdf and Secondly, how do I remove the Microsoft Word Prefix.

I tried to change the web options preferences, and under web page title no matter what is inputted we still get Microsoft Word and .doc displayed as part of the title name. I just need to change the title. Under get info in finder the title is listed as the same thing.... of course this is not the file name, I am having no issues with that.

Hopefully this makes sense, I need to change the title name, not the file name. It needs to not say Microsoft Word in the title and not be appended with .doc as it is a .pdf and is reflected as a .pdf in it's file name. Please help... this cannot remain on our website in this manner.

It's probably that I am so frustrated now, I may have put this in the wrong forum, this is for Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac.
