I have been searching and searching for a hotmail help email account I can send a question to, but I have found no such email address. (I suggest adding a contact email to the support pages.)
I want to rename my current hotmail account to a new @live account. My account address is too long. I want something shorter.
I went to microsoft account - overview - rename account and I get the message "The email address associated with your Microsoft account can't be changed." I don't know why it can't be changed.
I then went to this help page http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/outlook/rename-account
I followed the instructions until part 3 where it says "Under Managing your account, click Rename your email address. You might have to sign in again."
I have no "rename your account" option under "managing your account" I only have create an outlook alias, which is not what I want to do.
Please help
Thanks

When I try to add my Microsoft account (Hotmail.com/ Outlook.com), I receive an error “Too many devices syncing with this account.”

Trying to close an old Microsoft account - was a windows live account - says I have subscriptions - only one I know of is for windows live one care which lapsed when the service ended.
Have set up a new account for my windows phone and desktop and want to get rid of old one as appears to be causing issues when I sync with outlook on my desktop.
Support pages are taking me around in circles.
Please advise how I get rid of this old account - on this email address - so only have my account created about a week ago.
Thanks a frustrated customer

The hotmail account I've used for seven years now doesn't work. I was trying to verify my new computer yesterday and may have created an alias as it wouldn't recognize the hotmail.com domain name. Problem is I don't know what the new info is... I was trying all sorts of things to get it set up yesterday and wasn't able to create a microsoft account at all! Is a microsoft account the same as hotmail?? Anyway I called the tech support line this am and they were not helpful at all, they said since it was a free account I was on my own ;( but aren't ALL hotmail accounts free?? \I need help from anyone who knows how to unblock or bypass what I did.
Thanks in advance!
