Hi,

Is there a way to limit, by date, email numbers or size, the amount of mail Outlook 2011 for Mac syncs with Exchange?

I have a user with a very big mailbox (19 Gig, reducing the size is problematic hence this query and please no comments about how we need to get his mailbox size down, its a work in progress) and his Outlook does not sync properly.  We think it may be due to the size of his mailbox and would like to test it to prove the point to the user that he needs to reduce his mailbox size.

Ever since I have started using Hotmail and then OUTLOOK the mail box zie has reduced drastically earlier i got a mail 
  • Your Outlook.com account is growing too fast‏ when i had 9000 messages then i deleted 5000 messages in the context that considering my usage the mailbox size will increase but every 30 days i get a message Your Outlook.com account is growing too fas when i merely have 3500 messages now.

    Is there a limit or a defined capacity for mailbox size and if i am always hitting the limit is there some alternative to increase my mail box size like BOXBE

My main identity is now 10.7GB.. how do i safely reduce the size or archive contents ??

Is there an option like there was with Office windows to do this ??

I'm using an SSD so space at the moment is crucial..

Hi all -

I am in the process of moving from an in-house IMAP server to a hosted Exchange server for my small business e-mail.

We have a lot of email messages, especially in shared folders that are shared among our five users.

Previously I was using Apple Mail, so in order to transfer the mail to the Exchange server, I added the exchange account and manually transferred mail to my Exchange inbox.

As Apple Mail doesn't support Public Folders in exchange, I then set up my new Exchange account in Mac Outlook and moved the emails from my inbox to my Public Folder (that all 5 of us will be sharing).

The problem is, the Public Folder is giving me the above error code and has only synchronized a portion of the emails in that folder.  So when I go to Outlook Web Mail, it is only showing maybe 50% of the emails even though my Outlook client has them all.

My hosting provider is unable to advise why and they said there is no limitation on mailbox size on their end.  

They have suggested that I try to migrate my emails using an IBM but I don't have any IBMs, and I"m afraid this issue may come again when I try to move emails to the Public Folder in the future.

It's about 4 GB of mail.
